Such a sad sad tale even 40 years + later we still mourn at the thought of such innocence passing in the night like a frozen wind that fills our lungs on a winters morning.
I've been sitting here in tears thinking ever since Don Mclean started talking about when he wrote AMERICAN PIE and the 1 thing I wonder over and over and can't seem to get off my mind is okay we made a movie about Buddy and a movie about Ritchie-we made sure their stories were told and their voices heard-why has noone considered making a movie about The Big Bopper-tell his story and let people know and make them aware that he was just as important, let his voice be heard and tell the story.
The Big Bopper as well as being a music star, was first a popular DJ, and later came up with the term "music video" and had plans to create them and a music video machine like a jukebox that would play the videos.
Thank you for posting. everytime this aired for one reason or another I'd miss it. so this is the first time I have seen it and enjoyed it immensely. I am part of those who did not grow up during the time of this music but sure do appreciate and enjoy it, so as they said in the closing segment the music hasn't died because its still here. RIP Ritchie, Buddy, Bopper
been looking for episode of TNN series "The life and times of Waylon Jennings" I think it originally aired in 2000? Can't find it anywhere! Anyone out there remember this? I'm sure I recorded it on VHS, but amazed I can't find any record of it on internet! Help!!!!!!!!!
Even though the left us all behind in the frozen February darkness they still live here on earth through their music. What an amazing legacy!

@mrsdmbfan1993... It's a word, yes, and you are definately right. La Bamba (the movie) is the reason I began playing guitar.
