  • omg...! its not alllowed to show people dancing outside when musicc is played published by WMG .i wonder wich bonehead had the idea to rermove the music from this video!

    awful

  • complaining 'bout copyrights while doing the cha cha in china sounds really weird to me.

  • Jeez this audio copyright is Really Really lame.

They disabled the entire audio just because we recorded an entire song. So that means ordinary folks can't record a happy birthday song because that's probably copyrighted by some recording house somewhere around the globe. One day they will censor images as well when they have the technology to discern them

  • For your info: the Happy Birthday song "belongs" (i.e. the rights have been purchased) to Warner Brothers. If you wanna put it on any movie, you have to pay them around 25,000 bucks. Ridiculous...

  • Nothing like doing the Lindy Hop by the lights of the Bund in the Paris of the East.

  • I love it !!!

  • pity your jiving to a strool

  • What great memories you will have, of dancing to jazz in Shanghai! Once I danced on a table in Beijing, but it wasn't as fun as you guys are having here.

  • nice ......butt

  • Great dancing. Would be better if you were wearing costumes.

  • How wonderful! The last time I was in Shanghai was in 1985; people danced on the Bund (not like this!); the Peace Hotel's band looked as if it could have stepped out of the 1940's. Fond memories.

  • the music is a bit tooo oooold.

  • How old are you? Are you serious? The music is SUPPOSED to be old, it's SWING!

  • It makes me want to learn how to dance. So cool.

  • Hello!! How's everyone doing?

    ----Chengdong

  • That's so cool... it makes me want to swing dance in Shanghai

  • Yes, this isn't 40s swing. even 40s swing evolved from its ancestors now only dimly available on youtube and old dancers. Swing, like all vernacular art, evolved and is still evolving. Like Jazz, it is American. And a feeling. The most important thing is the feeling.

  • This isn't swing, these are wanna-be's that think the 40s are one way when they're not.

  • It is swing, called the Lindy Hop. Made popular by Frankie Manning (and still taught by Frankie). These dancers are not master dancers, but what they are doing is still swing.

  • I'm not saying it's not swing but the '40's I've know to love and like was fast paced and rythymy...wait, that's the Jitterbug, maybe you're right :P

  • Yes, the jitterbug was very popular in the 40s. The jitterbug is a version of swing. The dance changes throughout the years. The lindy hop was made popular in the early 30s. But it is all swing.

  • Xiexie nin huanying wo! Zhen xiang lai. You yitian ba. Wo zheng zai zuo YangBaiHan Daxue de yanjiusuo (BYU-MPH). Danshi ne, wo dao Zhongguo zuo yidian yanjiu ye you kenengzing.

Don't miss out on watching twobarbreak's videos too! Peter's got the rarest and most amazing historical vids on youtube by a long shot. Mine are pretty easy to come by.

  • WOW! I've dreamed of going to Shanghai, swing dancing in Shanghai, so thanks for the visual taste! Zuo de feichang hao. Yinyue ye henhao ting! Nimen lai Meiguo de Youta Zhou baifang, zuo yidian yaobaiwu ba! =D
