How can you say that Delius is 'polite English music' with no commitment? Delius' music has more unique guts than most and is often more directly influenced by America or France than England - he was born here butlived most of his life abroad.

I agree with you, but this piece is very atypical Delius. (It's one of my favourite pieces by anyone.) I abhor the abuse in the other replies to you: you are entitled to your sincere reaction, whether positive or negative.

You should listen to "Walk to the paradise garden" i did it in orchestra in 2006 and it's a lovely piece
