id hate to say it but samantha hagar's voice was much more enjoyible to listen to especially live recently. Daves voice is original tho plus hes hilarious. Wolf sounds like he still needs puberty b4 he starts talking or singing into that mic

Hey calebhixon, you don't have to sneak a camera in. I was going to sneak mine in, but they had metal detectors, so I said, what the fuck, and just put it on the table with my keys and cellphone and they let me take it in.
I saw them in LA and they were ok. I think they sounded better with Sammy plus EVH son just stood there. Couldn't really hear Roth's voice over the sound of the instruments and wasn't impressed with Eddie's solo.
After watching this............ I am not sure if I want to go to their 2/18 concert in Tampa. Perhaps is the absence of MA or maybe the lack of luster of Eddie's son. Come on, this is a legendary band. There is no place for a 16 y/o there. What tha' F they were thinking? Sh** I have an idea........ since MA is now w/ Sammy, why the fat chick from the Wavos (Mona) move w/ Van Halen? Just kidding!!

Saw the 1st show in LA at Staples. Better then expected. Same muddy sound and Junior good but not great. Dave was on his game and really surprised me.
I had seen them on VH ,3,4,5 tours back in the day so I had something to compair it to.
If anything, the audience lost a step because we are mostly in our 40's now.
I just got back from the Van Halen concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It was unbelievable. David Lee Roth is back and better than ever. I swear, his voice sounds stronger now than it did back in the day. Eddie is still Eddie, and Wolfgang is a real talent, instrumentally and vocally. Go and see Van Halen in concert ASAP!

I saw them last night live, and they were amazing. Roth didn't miss a beat and Eddie Van Halen was phenomenal. Alex is Alex, always incredible and astounding. The son on bass was pretty good too, albeit a little chunky.
Nothing against Eddie's kid, but I'd NEVER see VH with junior playing the bass..NEVER. Not that I am a big fan of Anthony, but I demand full authenticity of the band before ever seeing them. So, once again, the egos completely destroy the chance of a full reunion from EVER happening.

Roth talks through the tunes more than he sings through them. Does that make him a good singer? Actually, the band could use a few more weeks of vocal reheasing, the harmonies are terrible.

Actually you are wrong, Michael Anthony did not play on all of the albums, and as recently as last year, he himself said so and pointed out that he only appeared on 2 or 3 songs on VH3 and did not play at all on the 3 new songs with Sammy on the last greatest hits album they put out a few years ago.

I saw them in Cleveland and it beat any Hagar show I have seen. They really kicked ass. I was afraid Roth might sound bad, but he was awesome. Wish Mike was there though. Wolfie was good but kinds just stood there, Mike would have kicked ass too.

Billy is a Legend, but Billy knows how to lay down a basic and effective bass lines. Micheal Anthony is an amazing bass player. The drag about Eddie is, he wasn't always a good guy. This day and age he has become less of a jerk. I met him, and he was awesome, but he was just as much a jerk in Van Halen as the rest of the guys. I love the fact that they made peace with each other, and my heart goes out to them and I'm so happy for them.
Sammy was great, DLR was also great. I love all of VH. I went to see the Sammy tour twice and this tour I bought the 5 star package at $1500 for the wife and myself. Front row seats, back stage pass, etc. Tour would be better without wolfgang; we will miss Mike.
Wolfgang's problem isn't his weight(I'm svelte and quite a weight supremacist myself), his big problem is he plays with a pick and strums the root and fifth like a guitar. It does make it 3/4 Van Halen now!

NO, I am a DLR fan all the way!! I've seen him several times, read his book, etc. DLR is the greatest (or one of the greatest) frontmen of all time!! Van hagar-Never. I just hope they can keep it together. It appears to be a very volatile, "forced" relationship. I have tickets for Madison saquare garden. Just hope they make it. It's been too long.

I think considering the amount of youthful energy it takes to play this music, and the fact they are 54 years old, they sound pretty fuckin good, especially compared to all the other classic rock bands touring with original singers, which is not very many at all. Saw the 1st show in LA at Staples. Better then expected. Same muddy sound and Junior good but not great. Dave was on his game and really surprised me.
I had seen them on VH ,3,4,5 tours back in the day so I had something to compair it to.
If anything, the audience lost a step because we are mostly in our 40's now.

I just got back from the Van Halen concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It was unbelievable. David Lee Roth is back and better than ever. I swear, his voice sounds stronger now than it did back in the day. Eddie is still Eddie, and Wolfgang is a real talent, instrumentally and vocally. Go and see Van Halen in concert ASAP!

I saw them last night live, and they were amazing. Roth didn't miss a beat and Eddie Van Halen was phenomenal. Alex is Alex, always incredible and astounding. The son on bass was pretty good too, albeit a little chunky.

Actually you are wrong, Michael Anthony did not play on all of the albums, and as recently as last year, he himself said so and pointed out that he only appeared on 2 or 3 songs on VH3 and did not play at all on the 3 new songs with Sammy on the last greatest hits album they put out a few years ago.

All of you dicks out there saying Dave can't sing or that this band doesn't have energy....fuck you. I saw them last night in DC, and it was a kickass rock show. In terms of his voice, Dave hit ALL the notes in Little Guitars (which is probably the most vocally challenging song they performed). Regarding his energy, he was all over the stage doing acrobatics, high kicks, etc.

I saw them in Cleveland and it beat any Hagar show I have seen. They really kicked ass. I was afraid Roth might sound bad, but he was awesome. Wish Mike was there though. Wolfie was good but kinds just stood there, Mike would have kicked ass too.

They have enough of my money, and the times I did see them they were all extremely drunk and very average. Bands like these guys and the crue are the morons, charge you a C-note for a ticket to see them get so loaded they can't even sing.

Billy is a Legend, but Billy knows how to lay down a basic and effective bass lines. Micheal Anthony is an amazing bass player. The drag about Eddie is, he wasn't always a good guy. This day and age he has become less of a jerk. I met him, and he was awesome, but he was just as much a jerk in Van Halen as the rest of the guys. I love the fact that they made peace with each other, and my heart goes out to them and I'm so happy for them.

Sammy was great, DLR was also great. I love all of VH. I went to see the Sammy tour twice and this tour I bought the 5 star package at $1500 for the wife and myself. Front row seats, back stage pass, etc. Tour would be better without wolfgang; we will miss Mike.

Here's my "end of tour" predictions: Wolfie will sweat off 50-60lbs, Eddie's replaced hips will collapse and he will literally "fall through his ass", he will "hit" the bottle hard and Dave will be kicked out (yet again) as he's trying to help lift up Alex off the floor (after Alex passes out backstage like he did during the MTV awards a few years back). NO, I am a DLR fan all the way!! I've seen him several times, read his book, etc. DLR is the greatest (or one of the greatest) frontmen of all time!! Van hagar-Never. I just hope they can keep it together. It appears to be a very volatile, "forced" relationship. I have tickets for Madison saquare garden. Just hope they make it. It's been too long.

I think considering the amount of youthful energy it takes to play this music, and the fact they are 54 years old, they sound pretty fuckin good, especially compared to all the other classic rock bands touring with original singers, which is not very many at all. Who's good now, Zep? The Who? Black Sabbath? Shit, Foriegner and Journey dont even have original vocalists. Hows that for a letdown.
