in East O? try the 80s and 90s along E14 (International). Look out for Birch, it's in the 90s. look/ask around, using your head. Make sure you're in a whip and have a buddy or two with you. it's dangerous tho. my advice is to get into oxy or norcos n shit. it's a lot better, reliable, and safer to deal with sick/ injured people (if you happen to get a direct line.) Picking up OCs in the Tenderloin is reeeeaaalllly easy. just watch your back

i quite liked the tl when i was there it was sure hairy fuck those crack heads and street people kind of make the place. i remember many times by product of some dude at mcallister and market, walking in the road because it was safer than the sidewalk, the random violence, how dangerous is carls jr at night, growing to accept being called white boy/ghost/etc by the locals. used to go for a swim at the phoenix quite abit. good times!!

Yo I used to live on Hyde and Ellis and you could go out there at 5 in the am. and see the streets filled with nukkas selling and buying drugs, ass, dick, whatever... all different races. Shit I got free crack there before because they just wanted to hook the poor ass white boy. TL is nutso, I lived in Harlem, Bedstuy, Jamaica Queens, and hoods all across the country for some odd reason, just happened that way. The TL is one of a kind!!!! The problem with the TL is that you have tons of hotels that the GA gives you for free if your homeless so it's ridden with really poor people who, well when i was there flipped the food stamps for cash and turned that into drug money, which is what i did back in the 90's. So basically you have apartments that are mad cheap for people that have been there for years and hotels that are really cheap to free because of GA for some drug dealin, pimpin, or drug addicted people, then the newbes rentin

It can be expensive is some parts, but usually anywhere from 1,200.00 and up for a one bedroom. I lived in the tenderloin for about 4 years and I really miss it.

As a former SF resident, I'd have to say this captures the essence of this often-depressing area in a positive, lighthearted fashion —not easy to do. And perhaps only an outsider [Brit accent] could view the neighborhood this way. A little on the PC side, though, calling the transvestites transgendered. Expand the concept to include more of the flavors of the area.

Yes, it is quite simple to trip down there during the day, but if you really wish to show the tenderloin in its essence, walk the streets at night alone. These brief flashes while standing in front of the busiest of businesses do not cut it.
