As the title "We were soldiers" implies, the movie only tells part of the story "We were soldiers once...and young". More American propaganda.

Continued from before. This movie is totally real. Hal Moore, Joe Galloway, and Bruce Crandall were all on the set and provided information. You have no respect for any of what our boys did. They killed 1800 NVA. More than any other battle since WWII. We only took 71 KIA and 140 wounded. YOu need to watch what you say you fucking lepercon.

this movie was the TRUE story of the battle that took place in the Ia Drang VALLEY, not jungle Vietnam has both, genius. Second, the body count was exactly correct in the movie and the book. LTCOL Miller tooted his own horn a bit with the speeches, but I know men who were in Vietnam, and all of them say the same thing. This is the first movie they've ever seen that has come close to the truth.
One thing i dont like about this movie is that the vietnamese casualties in the battle of La Drang are way too big in this movie. You would think that for every US dead there were 20 vietnamese dead but The death toll was like this. 234 US dead and 837 vietnamese dead.

This movie is good, very emotional, though the NVA casualties were a LITTLE overexaggerated. Mel Gibson has starred in a rather historical accurate film for once.

AGAIN: the US military hasent been defeated, the american public has been. the american public was tired of a guerilla war that could have gone on for several more years. costing more lifes and billions and billions more dollars.

civilians count as soldiers? And there patrolling tactic was horrible and they had to get the australian army to re adjust there patrolling skills for more effectivness. I know casulites are a part of war but 58,000 was to many and alot of those deaths could have been avoided.

the vietnam war was caused by hostile actions of communist North Vietnam, however the government of South Vietnam, was supported by the United States, NV being communist there are no civilians, united states couldnt use a nuke because it would hurt south vietnam

guys men died on both sides, and it is a shame, all war no matter how justified, or how necessary is a crime. So chill out I believe the directors of this film simply wanted to do homage to the soldiers that fought in this battle, and to show the horrors of war.

fuck you its not 100% my uncle fought in that battle as a medic and he told me that was exactly what happened to them my great uncle just recently killed himself because of the flashbacks he has seen more dead bodies in one day then you will see in your life read the book we were soldiers once and young by joeseph galloway and Harold Moore it is exactly what was in the movie and they had Joeseph galloway and harold moore help in the making of the film

Continued from before. This movie is totally real. Hal Moore, Joe Galloway, and Bruce Crandall were all on the set and provided information. You have no respect for any of what our boys did. They killed 1800 NVA. More than any other battle since WWII. We only took 71 KIA and 140 wounded. YOu need to watch what you say you fucking lepercon.

this movie was the TRUE story of the battle that took place in the Ia Drang VALLEY, not jungle Vietnam has both, genius. Second, the body count was exactly correct in the movie and the book. LTCOL Miller tooted his own horn a bit with the speeches, but I know men who were in Vietnam, and all of them say the same thing. This is the first movie they've ever seen that has come close to the truth.

One thing i dont like about this movie is that the vietnamese casualties in the battle of La Drang are way too big in this movie. You would think that for every US dead there were 20 vietnamese dead but The death toll was like this. 234 US dead and 837 vietnamese dead.

This is the best war movie i have and will ever see. God bless America and the soldiers that fought in vietnam like this movie. I did cry at this part and at the end when i first saw this movie with my friend. May all the soldiers in Iraq kill some terrorist assholes and to come home safely.
