I can now talk to my computer and its super fun!

My computer listens to every command,even knows when I am commanding or when I am saying something normal and not commanding!

I like this software!

its pretty good actually, you just need a decent mic and you need yo use it a lot cuz it adapts to how you talk the more you use it. the only real problem is when other ppl are around and they think that your a complete psycho or they keep saying "Close Window" to screw with you... but there is no way to fix that (with software)

This is not the failure of the software, but in the way North Americans are pronouncing their words and letters. English is my second language and I noticed that when I pronounce the word exactly as it is written, Americans don't understand me. Things like water (waDer), bottle (boDle)... and many many more. Correct your speech first, before correcting the software! lol

Microsofts demonstration failures are hilarious. The biggest failure here though is the reporters "joke" at 0:59. The news woman didn't seem to understand what Ms meant by "ambient noise", they were talking about the reverberation of the room, not chatter and laughs from the audience. Newish? Voice Recognition software has been around for years. Dragon Dictate was sold in 1997 for Windows, IBM's ViaVoice was free in 1999. Granted, they were discrete dictation software then, but they did evolve to continuous dictation long before anybody was even thinking about Vista.

this software is very unreliable..

however it could be used effectivly for some interfaces..

essentialy each word you say generates a list of likely suspects...

if you have a menu with very limited options the list of suspects could be much smalller if you seach for words in that menu...

thus you could use this technoligy quite well...

Voice Recognition is only available on a few languages. I'm not sure about how many languages are supported, but you need at least an English version of Vista for it to start with English.
