Yes they did play smooth criminal in the beggining and no they arnt a "secret" group its just what they call themself.

As great as they are - and they are great - they are surpassed by any of the top 6 drum and bugle corps' drumlines in Drum Corps International. Just try looking up DCI shows by the likes of the Phantom Regiment, Blue Devils, Cavaliers, Vanguard, Carolina Crown, etc. And those groups are judged by a panel of professional judges at least 3 times per week.

DCI is more on music and musical ability. While Top Secret is about music and musical ability, they seem to excel in the entertainment/showmanship more than DCI. Not saying one group is better than the other its just, different styles to create a difference or reception by different audiences.
