Bullcrap. In half of these clips he's so far past the pack the blocking is no longer needed. The Bears running interference are a huge help in many cases but if it was all up to blockers there would likely be a Hester on many more teams. I simply have never seen anyone run like Hester, and now the record books back that up.

It's a shame the Bears turned Hester into a WR. As long as he remains at WR, he will never be at his full potential like he was back then. Playing at WR simply takes too much out of a player. Even when you dont run the ball, it doesn't change the fact they have to field the guy. Meanwhile, you got guys who probably get physical with him at the line, knowing he's undersized (for a WR).

Far as I see it, his career is already ended. Now he's just a prototypical speedy WR, like Darius Heyward.

The issue with running more is stamina related. Running kickoffs is draining. We saw this happen with Harrison in the Steelers Superbowl when he returned the interception TD - he needed oxygen and practically collapsed. Hester makes it look easy, but there's no way he can attain the same burst of speed he once had if he's expending stamina at WR. Even when he's not making plays, he expends energy generating separation.
