I LOVE this film! Been watching it since I was little and I'm reading the book now...a little each night! I'm at the part where he's been out of his room...:D
it was a great film you have made a great video about it kathy bates was fantastic in this film she really brought the nasty old woman to the screen aha and yes i agree with @judgemaster2009 she did love him but went mad with her dream at least she apologised at the grammy awards about the ankles lol shes a great woman i lurrrrrrrrve her and kathy bates ofcourse
King writes very good, complex characters. I think one of the deepest, most deeply metaphoric stories is IT. The film made for TV loses the point a bit, but the book is perfect
Personally I would've rather died in the snow than be forced to endure Annie's sadism. I mean for Christ's sake she almost takes Paul's life with a chair in the middle of the night just because her favourite heroine has passed away, she threatens to burn him to ashes unless he destroys his latest novel, attacks the poor guy in his sleep with a needle, and breaks his ankles with a sledgehammer in arguably the film's most famous moment. I've heard that Annie is even more nightmarish in the book.
And more than the axe, she then proceeds to burn the wound shut without any numbing agents. Oh and she cuts off his thumb for complaining about a missing key.
She didn't set a trap on him...she followed him secretly, but she had nothing to do with the accident...He had luck (well...or not...), that she was there, when the accident happened...
I remember seeing this movie (or part of it) when I was a little kid. I screamed bloody murder when she broke his ankles and my parents ran into the room looking for A. blood gushing from an injury or B. an intruder. My parents made me stop watching after I explained why I screamed.
Until now I never knew the name of the movie. But when I saw that psycho's face... I just knew.
i love the line where annie goes "when are we going to develop a sense of trust??" id say "soon as you stop 3 things 1) giving me those pills 2) you stop breaking my legs and 3) you stop sticking me with those needles
i have a lot to say to annie but i never wanna meet that pyscho!!!!! (amen)
Hey ! Don't you guys think it would be ULTRA HYPER TOTALLY SUPER SPECIAL AWSOME COOL if like, for example, Stephen King wrote Misery again but from Annie's nutcase point of view this time ? And also if he'd explain us what the FREAKIN laughing place is ! I REALLY wanna know ! I hate him for not telling XD
OMG I THINK I LOVE YOU FOR THIS !!!!! The more I see Kathy Bates, the more I'm convinced that she's the most ressembling in her physical appearance and attitude to Annie Wilkes. That music vid was PERFECT BRAVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From Annie Wilkes' number one fan :D
I didn't like the fact that ANnie got killed in the end. It would have been better if she'd been caught and taken away to jail or a mental hospital or something. It would have been more scary because Paul would neevr be able to rest easy knowing she was still out there somewhere and might be free again someday! Perhaps they could even correspond by mail or become friends or something - the possibilities would have been huge, maybe even a sequel - but I just don't think she should have died.
Excellent choice in having Kathy Bates play the antagonist, in my opinion....you would never suspect someone as "sweet and wholesome" looking to be that freaking phsychotic.....which makes it even scarier.
love the song and the movie, the book is good too. The film was so suspensefull. your really great at creating videos like this! make more plz lol 5/5
:-) Thanks so much! I LOVE the book and the movie is one of the few King-book-movies that I really love, cause its so good done. I I only would have time I would make lots more vids, I am missing it ! I try to do it :-D
do you like any other stephen king books? i like The Stand and The Shining. I only finished Misery a couple of months ago. It is really high up on my fav book list
thats a bit hard to answer....hmm...The Stand is my all time no. one...I also like IT and The Green Mile and Insomnia and Dolores (Kathy Bates plays Dolores in the movie :-)) )..there are so many...I read all of his books so far (but not the internet stuff he writes...)and the only one I was not able to finish (dunno why...I somehow don't like it...) is Duddits :-)
I saw The Green Mile on television the other day. I never read the book, but i love the movie. What did you think about Insomnia? I only read it to page 150 (or about that far) then stopped. I guess it just got kind of boring to me. Pet Sematary is one of his best IMO.
I didn't like Carrie too much. I finished it, but really didn't like it. All of his other books I or like or LOVE and I adore Duddits, why don't you like him ? I like the book a lot but don't LOVE it though.
God its like Stephen King built Annie Wilkes Around HER he knew who he wanted as Annie or she is just awesome. If you think about it she is a child traped in a womans body she reacts just how a child would if she were angry. So something happened when she was a kid that made her crazy
oh gosh....that was.....that was sooooooo awesome!!!! i just thought today "i really want to see a quality Misery video...." and you've exceeded my expectations!!!!
When she was going to serve him coffee or something and they both smiled and laughed gently while they went each way, and both looked back... and laughed againg.. THAT was so cute hehe. And also when she act like that pig... LOL then I thought "this lady is really crazy" :D
lol i loved how it took like 8 tries to kill her in this movie
i don't remember everything that happend but i remember he hit her with the typerighter, bashed her in the head with some other stuff, did he shoot her? i don't really remember but damn, avoid running into her if ur her favorite author :P
Yes, it sure is!!! This is one of favorite movies, besides The Simpsons Movie, Delores Caiborne, Hocus Pocus, and The Passion of the Christ. She's also good in Delores Claiborne. "I didn't murder that bitch...!"

Does anyone else feel any pity (NOT sympathy) for Annie?
All she wants is for her book to be written by her favorite author.
She just looks so lost when he starts burning the manuscript.
(sympathy = compassion, understanding, share the suffering of ;
pity = feel sorry for, ex. "I pity you because your life sucks." )
Don't misunderstand me. She GOT what she deserved.
(If she hadn't died in the end, then I, 11 years old when I 1st saw the movie, wouldnot have been able to sleep that night.)
