  • I wonder why in this film there is nothing about Unique Chrome ID ...

  • I use google chrome for this time :D

  • The only people who complain are too paranoid.

  • ever wonder why chrome logo looks like and eye? Thats because it watches you lol. but seriously it tracks users

  • If we had more of these "trackers" in 2001, maybe the World Trade Centers wouldn't have been hit in the manner that they were. It's still an invasion of privacy...who knows anymore :-)

  • @Crisi114 actually the NSA knew WTC would be hit but they were not allowed to release the info. maybe because it was an inside job

  • Google the biggest privacy offender, report excerpt: Among many companies google rated worst - as "Hostile To Privacy". Description: "Track history of ignoring privacy concerns. Every corporate announcement involves some new practice involving surveillance. Privacy officer tries to reach out but no indication that this has any effect on product and service design or delivery." . "an attitude to privacy within Google that at its most blatant is hostile, and at its most benign is ambivalent."

"When you type a web address and hit enter..."

Google chrome sends info BEFORE you even hit enter! I'm sure they FORGOT to mention that little bit of a detail...

  • @Tome4kkkk You mean Instant Search feature or Prerendering Omnibar experimental feature? Either can be enabled by user consent and disabled by default, also these features weren't available when this video was made.

  • @theformerlife "You mean Instant Search feature or Prerendering Omnibar experimental feature? Either can be enabled by user consent and disabled by default, also these features weren't available when this video was made. "

It was only an example. There are many others. Even more - the "whatever Google does is to suck more private data" statement is pretty damn close to truth.

  • @Tome4kkkk Oh well, you are right Google does track your data, there comes Trust, it is a wonderful quality unless abused. :P

  • BTW, google named the biggest privacy offender among all the data miners out there in a study. Look it up on arstechnica. If google being privacy offender is news for you you REALLY need to catch up on the subject!

  • Google Chrome has always been the fastest as long as I can remember. Being safe and private is hard to find on any browsers in this day and time.

  • two reasons this sucks.

1 almost every other browser has incognito(private browsing)mode and ability to clear history

2 Google chrome uses a lot of methods to track users and and store data on the servers. their new partnership with the NSA doesn't help

  • @TheMsdos25 "1 almost every other browser has incognito(private browsing)mode and ability to clear history

2 Google chrome uses a lot of methods to track users and and store data on the servers. their new partnership with the NSA doesn't help "

    Ditto!

If you're really after less spying on the internet, support Firefox, ran by a non-profit organization. Forget about pro-user attitude in case of any for-profit org, especially leeches like google.

  • 0:07 =)

  • ممتاز

  • lol im sure a browser that spies on you and sends history back to google is very private

  • this is grate

  • very nice

  • Lovely video

  • 1:53 - 2:00 is misleading

  • I don't really get why people CARE about this, I mean, WORST case scenario, someone at Google reads all your search history, what's the big deal?

I really don't care if some random employ, or even some other big company that Google might sell this info to knows that I look at porn and a couple other embarrassing things, as long as they don't share the info with my mom, why should I care?

  • @poodoo138 SO your working at an office... with a computer.... and your living with your mom? I guess the economy is tough =/

  • @cantyoutellqs Er.. what?

No, I don't work at an office... where the hell did you get that from?

Yes, I own a computer... so do you.

Yea I live with my mom, wanna fight about it?

Yes, the economy is tough, what does that have to do with my comment?

  • How is my information deleted???

  • Great video! The best I seen...thanks

  • dj-ruki

  • Fantastic Channel! Thanks for a lot of information

  • i really think so too..best

  • Google Chrome The best! I love it too.

  • I also love it tooooooooo

  • and for some reason you spend more time with repairing because of an update what changed the lot, look at autoplay,it stopped working before leen back was ready to be installed. No wonder people throw their pc out of the window on the 10th floor !!

  • Thecomments capability is a great thing for sure. However, if one replies to a particular comment, only the person whose comment is being commented on, knows what the comment is about, as it is brought up in Email if settings permit. For example I just commented on another , saying ,"too bad it cannot spell". But nobody but me or the perdon who wrote the upsidedown message, knows I was referring to such. Kinda short on coolness isn't it?

  • g0ogle... privacy... sigh...

  • @gariouscom yep. I read the Google Chrome privacy policy and look what i found! "When you download Google Chrome or use it to contact Google’s servers, Google receives only standard log information including your machine’s IP address and one or more cookies." In other words, we may take some of your login details and copy your log of visited websites (history) and view them whenever we want to. And the bit about the machine's IP address shows your EXACT location! They didn't say anything...

  • @TheOz1999 actually, IP addresses can only be used to get a general idea of where the person is located, and many times is logged in cities many miles away. Nice try starting a scare storm, though.

  • @mattquatch What about having your cookies sent to Google (which sometimes include login info and passwords) when you join their improvement service? And being able to see all saved passwords within the browser without hacking into it? Imagine leaveing your PC in a Cafe when you goto the toilet with chrome open and someone goes to settings > personal stuff > saved passwords and then clicks on your Mail provider and clicks 'show'... Those where just 2 thing chrome does bad at privacy...

  • I think it's funny, and rather scary that they even need to clarify this. Nobody using Safari or Firefox ever thought that Apple or Mozilla were harvesting information.

  • It takes over two minutes to startup

  • Google and privacy, what a joke!

  • @Dmstrify Well, I haven't had a privacy breach since I first started using the Internet (which is about the same time I started using Google). Have you? If so, in what way?

  • Google DOES steal your information in many many many ways, it's scary....

I want to delete Google from my entire life, if I can just figure out how.

  • @lindahurst It doesn't steal data, it buys it. And we just hand it over to them like sheep because we've grown attached to their services. Heck, I can't function in my job without some Google products these days. Best I can do is feed them as much false information as possible.

  • @lindahurst you better delete your YouTube account then, because google owns Youtube.

  • PRIVACY???, yeah rigth!!!, nobody ever notice that this is a google product?, itas like a camel commercial telling you it makes you healtier

  • Have your ever downloaded chrome extensions that says "This program has access to your: all browsing history", that contradicts 1:14

  • @chronousnemesis "...without your permission". Just don't give it permission then; it doesn't contradict anything.

  • yeach... I like this

  • I don't believe browsing history is not sent to google (even though I am using chrome right now. How do I know this is even going to get published?). It's all a lie. The cake was....

  • @lzrd0113 It's open source, so people can just download the Chrome code, view it, and compile it themselves if they don't trust Google. Linux distributions do this anyway, since they prefer to release and update shit themselves.

  • @tapo Why does Google have to worry about people not trusting them? If we really didn't have anything to worry about, why are they making sure we don't? Sounds suspicious to me.....

  • MMM!!!!!!!! cOOkiez!

  • @GTAModsCentral try going to ie(.)microsoft(.)com(/)testdrive or any other html5, graphics etc and google chrome loses all tests! Except their own (obiously)

  • @GTAModsCentral Too bad it cannot spell .

  • @utuberine Yeah, I know. Also.. I said this a year ago.

    Why respond to it?

    Why...

    WHYYYYY

    WHY GODDAMNIT.

  • chrome much faster with my slow internet connection

  • lol, i feel as if im the only only one who uses internet explorer

  • כל הכבוד לגוגל

  • הסרטון ממש יפה וטוב

  • I was using Firefox for ages. When I started using chrome I noticed a difference in speed. Chrom is faster, and the crashing in Firefox was annoying, as i had to reload all tabs again.

I still use Firefox for some cases. Both have their ups and downs.

  • chrome has been pretty good so far. Have started to use lately, really digging it so far. Is fast and smooth, easy extension plug ins. Is really great, once you start adding to it. Firefox was always kind of slow, and just didn't have a zip to it.

  • fire fox maybe better but its a lot slower

  • Google chrome doesn't have plugins, firefox is 100 times better.

  • @yahonoify ...yes it does?

  • firefox is better

  • @Katil60 - Firefox sucks, it's slow.. Crap features.. Just is extremely low quality, much like IE. Opera on the other hand is the browser others are picking apart and using features.

  • thanks for the help

  • chrome auto-updates flashplayers (adobe i know for sure) in the background so when updates are ready for firefox (non-IE browsers) & for IE (which i never use but keep updated for security purposes), i never have to install flash updates for chrome; don't have to stop chrome for flash update to install.

chrome is super-fast & efficient! netflix works great w/chrome, too. have used firefox for 5 yrs, loved it always--but it's been running extremely slow even in safe mode & on 3 diff't PC's.

  • chrome is awesome. best browser i ever used. they make it all so smooth.

  • mozilla rocks

  • @blenderuser you are absolutely correct,in the video it states that it (chrome)checks and updates the browser automatically, which means that chrome is constantly in touch with google servers and there is no option to uncheck it.also it installs a googleupdate in the startup without your knowledge which keeps on running in the background. i want a browser where i have a choice not one in which i am forced to do things. USE SRware iron or comodo dragon.

  • @arsenaloyal

    > there is no option to uncheck it.

    Wrong.

"autoupdate can be controlled via Group Policy, or users can download a standalone version that does not autoupdate."

  • People who say that Google invades their privacy are either doing it wrong or reads too many tech gossip blogs.

  • @Domthedude001 Google should give simple info re data collection, simple opt out methods. Saying others wrong or reading bad blogs lazy and bad blogging? I give my sources on this page, and listening to google ceo, tracker alerts, efforts to opt out etc - no blogs.. Google not alone but leading. How our info used now is one thing, later our historys will be used with connections to images, marketing, politics, employers, naibours, police, friends etc. What are your sources please.

  • "How Google's 'Chrome' Doesn't Protect Your Privacy" cut and past this into youtube to find the reality, its by consumerwatchdog

  • why does chrome take the settings frmo IE? now i cant disable exlprer cuz chrome wont work -___-

  • I think it's nice that they made this video. I now take them and google chrome more seriously. dont rly get the privacy jokes...this video explains everything

  • google makes shit trojans!

    fuck you google!

  • actually Chrome has saved me more than one time with its privacy blocker i very much enjoy it it has made the internet more enjoyable

  • wow i dont think any other company (aka windows and apple) has put this much time or effort in having consumers be this aware of their product and also better understand it...good job google

  • Can someone explain to me why everyone thinks google invades their privacy? I dont get it...

  • @DavidWilson212 yeah, i don't understand it either =/

  • @DavidWilson212 try firefox with add on ghost to observe tracking.

cut and paste this to youtube

  • @insectboy0 Both Firefox and Chrome send out data that are compliant with both their privacy policy and source code (and can be modified through the settings easily).

  • ^_^

  • LMAO, google talkinbg about privacy?!

  • It checks for new versions? Then how was I stuck with 3.0 for a year before discovering they had a 6.0 beta? Oh, I know the answer! Terrorists are stopping us from updating our browsers. I am scared now. :|

  • @jpreston0 Because 6.0 beta is dev, not stable... 3.0 is still the most recent stable version

  • This is a browser that records all the websites you visit, everything you type, etc. It is all sent to google so then they give all the information to the cops :O. seriously though i don't care even if they did keep track of what i did, because i don't do anything illegal.

all of u claiming google is a trojan well i have one question for you, what is it you want to hide lol???

  • @jarostone who judges and inteprates my private life matters to many others, records kept indefinatly, political changes, private life etc matter to me, I don't want someone who says they perfect citizen judjing my private life. Many teens will be embarresed later. People normally have much thats not for public judgments, as long as you are perfect though "lol"??

  • wow realy? Google just said shit about privacy again realy? Google chrome is a new kind of browser a browser of NO privacy if you have ever used google chrome i uggest you restart your pc cuz there is still some google chrome adware sending information from your coputer to there data base. I picture the world ending because of google every one knows where you are the can find you at any time every one would need a gun to be safe if google got any biger. when they start chiping people thats it..
