scrappy sound. there seems to be buzzing sound on the fret bars though a beautiful looking guitar. i bought one also, an ovation cc48 black.

Very beautiful guitar. I tried an Ovation years ago and found it allways felt like it was going to slip off my lap and shoot across the floor. Are the new models the same ? I am a Larrivee fan because of the tonal qualities ,but there's allways room for another guitar . Thanks for sharing your guitar with us .

@JOEROCKER1 Hi, that recording was "unplugged", just recorded into the internal mic on my macbook. I play 95% of the time "unplugged" and love the sound. Hope this helps. Stewart.

Might I ask what strings you are using? Are they the ones that were already attatched to the guitar? Or did you had to change the strings?

What are the most apropiate strings for an ovation celebrity? can anybody tell me?. I had a 12-52 set, but it makes it too hard to play, I almost bled my fingers!

@GenaroPortugues I use D'Addario lights .012-.53 phosphor bronze . Also tried Martin extra lights as well . How is the action on your guitar ? If it's high at the first fret ,you can take the slots in the nut a little deeper . I do my own set up work using common needle files and a torch cleaning set. If you don't feel like doing it yourself you can find a reputable guitar shop to help you out . Also If you fingers get enough callouses ,the string action won't bother you as much.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is a Celebrity Deluxe CS-247 with a Quilted Maple top. Very nice guitar, I own a CS-257 myself, very similar only with a super shallow bowl and a different top. OP-30 preamp with integrated tuner. These guitars are great it you like to plug in and are a natural transition for electric players.

hi, the guitar cs257 is already a discontinued model, but there's a similar ovation, the cc44, and the cost of a new one is around the 400 dollars, you can find a cheap one in ebay, sligthy used, and in perfect working conditions, thaks for watch the vid, best regards

Hey there, Its a Celebrity Deluxe CP247-GQ I'm not sure of its age, I got it used (but like brandnew) from Frailers in Runcorn (UK) it's a great place... The colour was one of the things that attracted me to this guitar... If you use facebook I've started a group called "Ovation Guitar Owners" come along and join :)

Yeah, I did. I got the exact model I spoke about in my earlier post, except I got a blue one instead of a green one. It's in some of my videos if you're wondering how it looks.

The guitar does not look plastic-like at all. The blue colour is kind of spacy, though, but it looks just like the wood that it's made of, just in a different colour ;)

I'm not sure how much I paid for it. I think about 500 euros, but I got a great discount.

I oly made this vid cause a guy at work wanted to hear my Ovation and asked me to record a bit on my mobile... I couldn't do it to the Ovatio,n so I recorded on the internal mic and cam on my macbook, quite happy with result :)
