He's beautiful. That is my favorite kind of cat, I have loved 2 like him thus far in my life, even tho' I'm not sure if the 'breed' or type has a name. They are talkative, super intelligent, they parrot human speech, very devoted, affectionate, sometimes grumpy, and in both cases lived to almost 20 years old! Congratulations!
No, not a preemie. One of the 5 kittens abandoned by mother cat and who was barely alive when current owner came to help. Also, he almost died by Young Cat Herpes (Virus disease that can be cured naturally if mother kept giving breast milk).
But you are right that he has grown up to a big and healthy cat.
