This is from Oxford Apollo in November '85. Although the song is a Schenker (or Marsden?!) song, Atomik and co made a really good fist of the thing. Love the heavy jam halfway through, which is similar to Purple's Black Night improvs. Mogg sounds just great, as usual. Cheers. :)
Didn't the only original, Mogg, disband UFO after this tour? You're right, he does look very tired here, very sad. UFO are simply a Tribute act without Schenker and Way.
@illuminousguru saw them in Cardiff on this tour- it was very sad indeed, everyone played their socks off but Mogg was just going through the motions- hence this jam, Mogg has an opportunity to piss off stage for 10 minutes!!!
@frehleysboots there's an interview with Schenker somewhere on one of my DVDs where he confirms what you said by saying that he (Schenker) has to routinely return to the band and sort them out to mantain the "integrity" of the UFO brand - if you can believe that. Its a strange business, but I don't think I'd be super-enthusiastic about having such a repetitive job of work.
I'd give anything to roll the clock back 30 years and have these guys and all the other bands do it all one more time !!!!!!!!!!!!! Best times of my life were the 70's , 80's, and early 90's...........
@snackersnew hey, are you joking? UFO released this song in 1974 (maiden's first album was in 1979) with Michael Schenker ar the guitar... Maiden re-released this song as a tribute to the great influence they had on their music...
@snackersnew Okay dude first of all, this song is made way before Maiden even came out with an album, and second - this recording is from 1986 and Blaze joined Maiden in 1993...
Maybe you should get your facts right.... just saying ...
@rocknrollfan013 Iron maiden included this song as one of the B-sides of their "Lord Of The Flies" (I believe the other B-side was My generation by the Who). To my knowledge they never claimed to have written the song. They made a cover of the song because they like it, simple as that :)
The best track ever by ufo.Drive your car down a country lane at 60 mph with the top down and this at full throttle....brilliant stuff....makes me wanna go back and rewind.x

@herrealdo This is from the DVD 'Misdemeanor Tour' filmed in Oxford UK in 1985. Its widely available. There are only two oldies on there (Doctor Doctor & Only You Can Rock Me) all the rest are from the Misdemeanor album.
@123IN321OUT I agree totally about the tone, it is far too toppy! and it's that tone that makes the playing sound bad. Tommy is by no means a bad player, he's nowhere near as bad as Paul Chapman was, that bloke just played drivel when he played live. Tommy, at least had structure to his solo's. Having said that, yeah you're right! It has to be Schenker. Can't stand Vinnie Moore being in the band either, Vinnie is a great player in his own right, but IMO he doesn't suit UFO.
