I think it's happen around the world. I'm from a Baptist church in Brazil and I feel the same things here. I read the book " They like Jesus, but not the church". I'm really thinking and praying a lot about that! Thanks Dan Kimball! God bless you!!
You cannot love Jesus and hate his bride at the same time. People don't like the church because they don't like to be told that they are sinners. Plain and simple.
I'm 48 and I know that the "church" is filled with the unregenerate and will "NEVER" walk through those doors. The most wicked people fill the pews of those places. Stop making false converts people. God choses His own not you and that includes you kids!
Where's the brilliant, "progressive" Muslim theologian who's campaigning for the mullahs to stop claiming the Koran is infallible? Who is the "forward-thinking" Islamic leader putting out videos trying to convince followers that the passages forbidding pork were mistranslated? Which Buddhist is complaining that there aren't enough Catholics who like to attend their worship, since there's no place for them in the ritual? If you aren't 'into' Christianity, just admit it. Stop trying to change it.
@JesusFreek1234 It's too bad it's based entirely on a false premise. Dan is giving legalists more law to solve their problem. Instead of judging so&so, now we are to judge the people that THESE people want to judge. Hypocrisy.
............... The New Testament never mentioned beastiality as referred to in the Old Testament..... That does not mean that it is at all ethical.
Ask GOD for Forgiveness, Repent from you life of SIN and false beliefs and be Baptized in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of SINS and you will receive the Gift of the HOLY Ghost, then you may be able to discearn TRUTH.
But my point is valid. Leviticus is a book of law that accepts polygamy, slavery and the stoning of psychics among other acts that we know to be wrong if we are able to discern the truth. Leviticus is a book of law and by the blood of our Lord and Savior we are no longer under law.
As for me I ask GOD for forgiveness everyday and pray to love like Jesus... wholly and without hesitation.
@brandnewwings Yes, and God will do far more to them if they do not repent of their sins of idolatry and put their faith in Christ alone for forgiveness.
God, the same God that everyone says is "love" is the same one that commanded them to do those things, to create a nation through which he would bring the solution to our sin. We have one way to flee from God's wrath, and that is to hide in Christ,in whose death God displayed his wrath against our sin.
Um Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. The scripture you are referring to is in Leviticus and may have been written by Moses or just some priests. No one is sure.
It is also a book that mandates male circumcision. Tell me...do you hate the uncircumcised as well?
Old Testament, New Testament the entire Bible is the Infalible Word of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Written by Moses or just some Priests??????????
This is the core of what is wrong with GOD'S CHURCH .... The authors of the books are all the SAME, GOD!!!! .... he has, does and will continue to use us and we need to realize he can use a donkey, the puffed up are humbled quickly.
The circumcision of the heart is what you need to question the most...........
Which church is right? Jehovah Witness, Mormon, Methodist, Catholic, Church Of Christ, Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Amish, Jim Jones, 700 club, Church Of The Nazarene, Robert Tilton, Southern Baptist, American Baptist, Disciples of Christ, Jimmy Swaggert, and all the thousands of independent churches.
C'mon...churches are MAN MADE organizations that do the same thing that Jesus taught against: Phariseeism. Jesus taught a life style, not organized religion.
I...ME...I...ME...WE....I...ME...WE...we get it...We don't need to dumb down the Gospel in order to accomodate people that are not going to accept Christ NO MATTER how much we lower the standards.
Jesus did give very persuasive teachings about choosing Him and to follow Him. So, yes He did try to convince people. Paul the apostle also "reasoned" with people and tried to convince them to follow Jesus. I would recommend reading the Scriptures and seeing how often it happened. This video is an attempt to be showing people the biblical Jesus, not just the one they may think he is.
The other day while at a restaurant waiting in line I heard some guy behind me loudly complaining about having to wait so the service staff must be "sorry." I turned to look at this guy and noticed he was wearing a Christian t-shirt. I thought to myself this type of person is what turns others away from Christ. Those that worship religion and have no idea of what it means to have a true relationship with Jesus. Your actions show your true faith - not religious clothing or bumperstickers.
More condemnation of Christians from the accuser of the brethren! Why are you over here spreading your trash talk now???? Don't you ever encourage anyone????
actually gtr says that as long as you do not say it is in the bible it is ok to say anything you want. true or not "general knowledge supersedes biblical truth.
good job dude..I would like to show this in my Church and will certainly attempt to spend more time where Christians do not hang out. I'll focus on the positives of following Jesus for sure!
I hear Dan speak at the Willow Creek SHIFT conference this spring...totally thought provoking. My Sr. High youth group is working through these issues right now, and it's powerful stuff. Don't get caught up in the 'literal Bible' stuff...his theology is sound, but how we present it to the world is what really needs to be questioned. Jesus met people where they were with compassion and a desire to understand, then he brought them toward the truth. The church can learn a lot from this.
Funny how informed all these people are! They know what the Bible says, but they don't go to church because some people say one thing and do another. That's still no excuse for not living the way God wants you to. We will all stand alone before the Creator and explain why WE didn't do what He said He requires us to.
If you don't consider the Bible the literal words of God, then what's the point of trying to convince anyone they're wrong Dan?
La cuestión es que te piden que lo discutas con inteligencia y no cerrándote... En tu escrito demuestras lo que nos falta a los cristianos, más amor y cero juicio, ya que será Su palabra quién nos juzgará.
Thats just the thing, your not supposed to "convince" anyone. Did Jesus ever try to convince anyone through his teachings? Your not selling a product here..
I hope my church uses this video. The students in the beginning of this clip are exactly those in the local university where I live. These are the questions Christians need to be able to answer. The church needs to be ready to answer these questions.
It is great that the church is taking this seriously and caring that the truth of Jesus is made known to those outside the church. These are things that the church can't ignore and we need to be talking about them.
I'm glad these issues are finally being talked about in the church. I run into people all the time that don't attend church regularly and their views are very similar to the people on this video. It's great to see a pastor take these issues on with such a Jesusness!!!
