Um, I'm not sure what you would classify as a "Japanese band," but just because they're fronted by Yuki Chikudate doesn't make this Japanese music or a Japanese band. They're based in New York and only 1/4 of the group is actually Japanese. Shoegaze/dreampop doesn't really typify Japanese music either.

"Speed" is another one that keeps popping up in anime. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the Japanese tend to borrow a surprising number of words that represent extraordinarily old and fundamental concepts and actions.

Actually the word is "hameru" (really.. just like in english, there are tons of words referring to sex and the organs but thats just an example) As for why they choose to use the english adaption instead of the japanese one... i have no idea. must have spung from their infactuation with america and english language in general.

I think they're good, and if they sang in japanese, more people would be interested in going to Japan, learning about the language and culture, be a cultural ambassador if you will.
