pretty cheeseball version of this amazing tune... sure the guy can sing like a champ but its just a corny twist he puts on such an honest and genuine song
i sat next to him on a plane many years ago, LA - melbourne, via NZ. i had no idea who he was then. we both got upgraded to 1st class and got pissed as. he's a grouse bloke!
classic, the best cover of any dylan song ever, hard to beat, will it be bettered in the future?? dylan's songs will be covered extensively in the future as they are brilliant fundamentally and are open to interpretation and experimentation I am excited to see future releases of his classics. Surely there shall be some versions close to this.....
@leahmhaines61 I love this song heaps... I listen to this particular YouTube version regulary and your comment is the most recent and they always have that dude that has been there for a year..... I like your comment more..
Yeah, basically the Jew stranglehold on ALL things creative, and wise, leaves us with this so obviously screwed up world of arts, and politics. Sorry, but money can't bring out the best of humanity.
From an interview w/ Roger Glover many years ago,the "Difficult To Cure" album was written w/ Graham's voice in mind, except he left halfway through recording. Listen to it & imagine Graham instead of Joe Lynn singing on the album. Sounds like Joe compensated for the songs because of Graham's range. We really didn't hear the real Joe Lynn until "Straight Between The Eyes".
what an amazing performance by this singer. the contrasts between the lame slide solo and Mr. Bonnet's voice make quite an interesting combination. the stage performance of Mr. Bonnet is over the top and one of the best pieces of video kitsch I've seen. when i just hear the audio, the incredible force that Mr. Bonnet puts into a fairly introspective ballad demands attention. It's an excellent interpretation of one of Mr. Dylan's best songs. Mr. Bonnet should have done more. rainbow? a paycheck?

Well, I don't want to hurt anyone, but I find this version awful, more because of the instrumentals than the singers voice. Dylan may be singin with his noze, but he can make me cry, unlike this man; no emotion goes from his voice to my ears..
I don't agree hunkydaboyz. He did admittedly dropped the key of the song a fair bit ( from F down to D ) and apart from only a few questionably pitched notes, it was sounding pretty cool. I doubt Graham Bonnet has ever or will ever murder a song. He is the singer's singer and one of the GREAT vocalists . : )
You cannot judge him at 61 years old!!! When he is in a good shape he's still incredible but of course he has some bad nights now more than in the past. But for me he is the best ever! And Don't forget he had big problems with alchool and his singing style is really extreme...often at the top of his range.
@rideon77 Wow good on Graham, always reckon alcohol is good for you, yes it has preserved him good advice here is drink plenty of grog lol Bloody great song.

He sang this at a 70's revival concert in Australia a couple of years back , and reports say it was awful , just all this screaming , he really murdered the song
I know it's blasphemous to put down Dylan in any way, shape or form but why is it that every Dylan cover sound soooo much better when someone else is sing ing one of his songs. Maybe because they put some heart and soul into it. Just my opinion. Dylan is a weird cat. But then again, most geniouses are.
The reason why Dylan covers sound better than the original is that..Like Graham Bonnet , they can actually sing..as opposed to Dylan...great lyricist but godawful vocalist.
@seventiesclassic Dylan might not have a typically "good" voice, but he sings his songs exactly the right way. the original vocals were somber and bittersweet, which is the vibe of the song. this guy's style is not suited towards Dylan covers, imo. too much oversinging...
Awsome voice in this song, but doesn't seem complete in full as the description suggest's... seemed like he had a little left in him before he finished the song....5* none the less.

dont like it, doesn't sing it with the heart that dylan sings his songs, all of them, that's why I hate all dylan covers, all one million of em, the artists might have a better voice, but he doesn't have the heart or vision dylan had, Dylan should only be aloud to sing his songs.
Imagine, this is live! Truly a great voice. Sort of a Jimmy Barnes who hasn't been weaned on scotch and razor blades. (He does look a bit like the bad terminator in #2 though!) Still, this song sort of reaches down to your adrenals and yells at "start moving! what are dead?!" Bob who??

`The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense.
Take what you have gathered from coincidence,
The empty handed painter from your streets, is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets.
This sky, too, is folding under you.
And its all over now Baby Blue`
