  • technically it wasn't compressed... It's mass expanded the rest of the ball and took up the same amount of space :D I be trollin!

  • Hi thanks for posting - ignore the criticisms over film speed, who cares about that, it is the sight of the ball compressing that fascinates me.

  • 0:06

  • What are you all winging about, this is clearly around 10,000 FPS, top comment my ass. learn about something before posting

  • Golf Balls! Ep. 1: Getting Hit By a Driver! .....*boing*..... The End

  • 10,000 fps? i get more than that on crysis

  • @Jacobrb13

you do realise that it is ten thousand and not ten point zero zero zero?

  • 0:06 <--- click it i dare you

  • @Airsoftfreaks I did. It went to the 6th second. I remain unimpressed.

  • Never knew a gold ball was so squishy...

  • So i guess Hi-Speed means the complete opposite of Hi-Speed....

    (Low-Speed)

  • It's 10,000 frames per second. In the video the club travels around 4.5 inches. If it was moving at 100mph then that is 1764 inches per second. So the actual amount of film here represents about 1/395th of a second. 10,000/395=25. Count the frames.

  • nice,i thought it stays round, had no idea a golf ball gets squeezed like that. cool.

  • wtf it skips the 6th second

  • Lol 10k fps? You can practically count the frames in this video..

  • uhh… so?

  • 0:06

  • wtf are you talking about? of course thats 10000 fps... you don't know shit so you think you are allowed to talk shit

  • This isn't even 500 fps.

  • Slow speed*

  • 10000fps? more like 1 fps =/

  • 0.06 best part

  • its skipped the 6th second

  • @a0rhino0sack and your parents skipped the chance to use a condom

  • @MrDip02 hahaah u got no thumbs up on that bitch

  • @a0rhino0sack i did'nt want thumbs up i was speaking the truth and besides all videos skip the last second to last second so its not that big of a deal

  • @MrDip02 no u wanted thumbs up

  • @a0rhino0sack no i don't even know whats the point of a thumbs up its just that people like your comment and i don't really that people do or don't its a god damn comment

  • @MrDip02 no uwanted thumbs up

  • @a0rhino0sack how about we shut up i think we sound like kids -_-

  • @MrDip02 yea sounds good sooo have a good rest of your life

  • @a0rhino0sack so it even has less seconds...

  • @a0rhino0sack And your point is....?

  • @Kyuubi1161 that it skipped the 6th second whats not to understand fuck face

  • @a0rhino0sack Lol what the fck? why call me fuck face? you were the one with the pointless comment! XD

  • @Kyuubi1161 u said whats the point trying to be a wise ass. i told u tht its a simple comment they skipped the 6th second idk y ur getting mad about it its not like its offensive ahahah idiot

  • @a0rhino0sack No, I wasn't trying to be a 'wise ass' I was only being sarcastic and you took it badly. >.> And no I'm not getting mad, I was amused by your use of the words Fuck Face. And I don't need anyone to tell me that that is a simple comment, its pretty obvious. xD Anyway, your making yourself look stupid by saying things like that. And Lol you need to sort out your grammar! :D

  • @Kyuubi1161 sorry i just abbreviated some words dumb fuck >.>(faggot face) go fuck urself duick shit

  • @a0rhino0sack Lol how old are you? Nevermind. It doesn't matter. I don't get why you are so worked up about it. All I asked is your point on the fact that the video skipped the sixth second. Lets just end this before one of us gets a strike on our account for seriously offending the other.

  • @Kyuubi1161 ahhhhh ireally wanted to offend you. by the way i dont give a shit bout wat u said idk y i started acting like that just did for no reason so yea im done witht his shit ahaha

  • @a0rhino0sack wtf?

  • @paraphreaker idk wat r u mad or confused about

  • lol its look like rubber ball hahah

  • how does it not chip?

  • @CroppedCross3 its elastic, which means it will stretch and then try to regain its original shape, because it is so hard to stretch though it just seems hard, however the reason they travel so hard is because when they compress they spring off the golf club. this is why golf balls bounce so well.

  • coollolololol

  • hold in the spacebar to make it go frame by frame

  • @30proYaY thanks, that's really interesting

  • @30proYaY It is almost already going frame by frame 10,000fps? lol

  • This makes me think that they are squishy.

  • @truexgunnerxchronica your comment makes me think your head is squishy.

  • Lol, 10000 fps my ass

  • @stainglassfox Unless he means the driver was traveling at 10,000 ft/sec (roughly 10x the speed of sound)

  • @stainglassfox recorded...meaning captured, if it were "played" at that rate, you would miss it.

  • @facebookcm10 FUCK YOU, YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT. I know how videos work, I'm not a fucking moron. If it were SHOT at 10,000 FPS, IT WOULD TAKE A FUCKING HOUR FOR THE CLUB TO HIT THE BALL!!!!!

  • @stainglassfox u mad bro?

  • @senorcrazyeyes dude its def not 10000 fps

  • @stainglassfox

WTF dude, your one angry bitch.

  • @stainglassfox no, 10,000 fps id believable, because obviously the golfer is the incredible hulk killing the ball and the ball is digitized... ..... yeah

  • @stainglassfox more like 10.000

  • @stainglassfox What makes you think it wasn't shot at 10,000 frames per second? You obviously don't understand how high speed video works. The 10,000 FPS is the RECORDING speed, not the playback speed. It's probably playing back at the standard 30 FPS.

  • @purplemutantas Um, you OBVIOUSLY don't understand how video production works. The video is recorded at I'd say somewhere around 500 FPS, NOT TEN FUCKING THOUSAND YOU ASSHOLE! GODAMN IT YOU'RE AN IDIOT!

  • @stainglassfox frames per sec, not feet per sec....dumbass

  • @hippieman1996 Fuck you, you stupid piece of shit. I know it's not FEET PER FUCKING SECOND. You're the DUMBASS for actually thinking that I would say that!!!!

  • @stainglassfox Chill ur nips, man. lol i was jk

  • @stainglassfox lol about 2fps

  • @james0908 thats a shot every .5 of a second, its faster than that, think about it, there was no blur and you got almost the full swing.... when someone hits a golf ball they aren't doing it slowly, i dont believe it was 10k, but its definitely not 2fps, if it was you wouldnt see anything

  • Comment removed

  • @stainglassfox u'd be surprised....

  • @stainglassfox It is possible.

  • wtf that was hi speed can you imagine super slow motion

  • @TheMrcoolguy24rd wtf ..

  • WTF

    lol

  • soooooo cooooool!!!!!!!

  • that's what happens when you use a shitty callaway ball

  • cos its a 4 ball....try with a 1

  • 21 dislikers score 130 on 18 holes....

  • Video title - High speed video? Yep looks fairly high speed to me lol

  • @TheBizzle280 It was filmed with high speed video at 10,000 frames / second, and played back at 30 frames per second. That's how you capture something in slow motion.

  • @larrybud Ahh my mistake then. Thanks

  • CHECK OUT the iSwing™ App to improve & analyze your golf swing.

  • rubber ball

  • @TheDJshaun Regular ball. That's how golf balls go so far, they compress the inner core and then energy is released.

  • Great video !

  • Fake and gay

  • @nachoeaghtinggamer says the "nacho eating gamer"

  • @alferxxx um hi i gess

  • @alferxxx um hi i guess

  • When I hit them they explode.

  • even though it looks like it changes shape very much it only does that for like 0.05 seconds.

  • A beautiful shot. It shows that the compression occurs before the ball starts to move. Then all of the compression is recovered while the ball is still in contact with the club head. The energy stored as the ball is compressed provides an additional kick. So for maximum kick we want a large compression. What is the club head speed before and after impact for this sequence?

  • Why is this called "Hi-Speed" instead of "Slow-mo"

    ..?

  • @Le0ga Because the camera films it at a high speed frame rate. This one was recorded at 10,000 frames per second and they slowed it down to a normal speed (usually around 30fps). I think slow-motion is more appropriate when you take regular footage and slow that down.

  • did anyone else get a boner watching this? no? no its only me? oh...

  • thats your nut i just hit

  • that ball said callaway :DDD

  • poin oin oin oin

  • i like the part when the ball get hit by the golf-club O.o

  • @TheBuzzDevil Damn, I must of missed that part! What time did it happen?

  • @pineapplerandom i dont realy know, it happend so fast!!

  • thats slow motion .....

  • i could watch this only 80,000 times.

  • WOW! Lets state the obvious...lol jp

  • Well not everything, for example, after a supernova happens the matter is so badly squeezed that electron and protons fuse to make neutrons with very very small spacing, if no spacing at all! Intact it's so dense that 1 tea spoon of neutronic matter ways over 20 tones! And I don't think there is any chance anythin can squeeze that :)

  • @noobownzify of course it can. the universe is a trippy fucking place

  • @noobownzify You just described a Neutron Star. Something even denser then that is matter that collapses in non it self during a supernova to create a very dense piece of matter. This matter has such a gravitational pull it creates a dense in space-time this causes a black hole. The black hole has a gravitational pull so strong it will collapse your star into practically nothing.

  • @noobownzify try 1 billion tonnes!

  • Everything is made of molecules with space between them, so nothing is truely solid like we think

  • @MusikAndLuv a golf ball is made of rubber, that is why it squeezed.

  • the highest-rated comments have been removed...

    reminds me of politics...

  • i thought it was hard...(o.O) me too hhhhhhhhhh

  • i thought it was hard...(o.O)7 ...well it's not

  • @dinkipooxa This video is about Hi-speed video of a golf ball compressed by driver. Not a fucking grammar school.

  • @Twiglaser yure zo rite abut thadt.

  • never thought they bent

  • wow i ddint even know that happened

  • lol the top comments

  • sexy

  • Wtf like a gold ball squashes in

  • LOOK AT THAT THING BOUNCE! :D

  • Yeah, golf balls are more commonly filled with loose iron shavings.

  • And don't forget that the cores of golf balls are mostly made of concrete or titanium!!

  • @REALDualDesertEagle no they arent

  • @grazzamon9 Yes, they are, at least in Germany!

  • 0:03

  • no fucking way..... awesome

  • wow thats a very "high speed" video

  • for 10000 FPS this vid isnt very smooth

  • @RaiseYaVoice Why do you say that? Let's say the driver club head is moving at 100mph (typical speed). that's 1760 inches per second. At 1/10000 of a second (the frame rate), the head would move 0.176 inches per frame. Looks about right to me. If the ball is moving at 150mph (2640 in/sec), that would be 0.264 inches per frame.

  • @larrybud I don't feel like checking your math, but this is what 10,000 fps looks like: /watch?v=20JNb4Ihxgs&feature=related

  • does this not look fake??

  • @immasecksee No

  • @immasecksee no, golf balls do squish when hit real hard.

  • now I want to see it with an exploding golf ball!!!

  • If anyone actually played golf, they would know that better quality balls likes titleist or callaway, have a very soft feel to them, you can actually dig your finger nail into them and leave a mark.

    This video makes perfect sense

  • hack.

  • it's not real. it is an obvious computor program because of the graphics. the ball changes too robotically and the background was that of a house.

  • @narutomaster529 oh yeah... a computor program...

  • @narutomaster529 way to goo Holmes.

  • @narutomaster529 Wow you're so smart... I tell you though, this happening here is 100% real. The golf ball has a speed of 250-300 km/h as the driver hits it, which explains.. well everything

  • @narutomaster529 This is obviously a shoop. I can tell by the pixels and by having seen quite a few shoops in my time.

  • flexo ball

  • Wow!

I was expecting only a very minor change in the shape of the ball; I was very surprised to see it compress that much!

  • @danagol1985 i was amazed that at 10.000 fps i saw it compressing that little :/

  • Golf balls are essentially rubber band balls or solid rubber balls... Take one apart.

  • @godsabnormalfreak There haven't been wound balls produced in probably 10-15 years.

  • it so amazing seeing this type of thing in slowmotion, i mean, u feel a gold ball in real life and its REALLY hard, yet in this slow motion vid it looks like its hitting a spongeball

  • @biff1008 or spongebob :]

  • @9hello123 wow, your boring as HELL.

  • @biff1008 is this not real life?

  • @biff1008 Everything will compress given enough speed. I used to know a guy who was an engineering for Boeing. He designed aircraft. They had to calculate the amount of flex in the wings when designing. He said after a while, it felt like the wings were made of rubber because the amount of deflection they could take!

  • @biff1008 SPONGEBALL SQUAREPANTS!

  • That rocks! Hahaha that looked so cool.

  • It looks animated :P

  • Cool

  • hmmm... you see we just dont care...

  • it commpresses!!!!!

  • just sayin - in the video info, you said gold ball instead of golf ball

  • lol gold ball info :P

  • beautiful and enlightening

  • it looks like a bouncy ball when the driver hit it lol

  • Comment removed

  • right on the sweet spot (Y)

  • Cool. XD

  • x(

    "noice' omfg

  • that was beast o.o

    ....oops almost forgot...xD
