Hi i run a Bonsai business and sell loads of Chinese elm every year i read a comment on your You tube channel mentioning yellow leaves on the Chinese elm.
Don't worry too much about yellow leaves its just the tree shedding its old leaves to make way for new growth. The Chinese elm naturally does this and can happen any time in the year it usually happens late summer to early autumn the tree will have a last surge of growth before the winter
check out the other chinese elm's for sale on ebay. yours looks to be around 10 years old. they are slow growers. but this is a beautiful tree. is it still healthy?
@tugboat0970 hey thanks for info, and yea its still heathly lost majority of leaves due to winter but it seems to be fine needs a new trim but when summer comes ill upload another video showing you what it looks like now :)
I love the curve of that trunk. I am new to bonsai but the first thing you need to do is get rid of the lower branches so you can get a better view of that trunk. Then maybe trim the sides to make it look more tree like shape. Remember that pruning back will cause new growth and make it thicker where you do so.
@Strider85 Thanks i kinda i love the curve to and how on the curve of the trunk it has the open look, i dont know if u can see it clearly in this vid i will make a new one soon of it purned the way you say :)
