@quintinp02 I find the digital thermometers to be less accurate. I did away with all of them. I used to do that but I have found that Brinsea incubators are highly accurate. You can tell when it says 99.5 and all your chicks hatch on day 21. When that happens I consider the thermometer to be highly accurate and I test other thermometers against the one proven to be accurate.
Wow, thats a good sale! I paid more but that's how life goes.
It is really easy to manual turn. If you work long shifts you might want to buy the turner. I am home often enough to turn several times a day. Also, with chickens they do well with minimal turning. Other species require more turning and not needing to open the bator to turn them is a huge PLUS! I have a candling vid posted the brinsea has 21 fertile eggs. 3 were removed, not viable. Hatch date is Feb 25th.
The Little Giant with fan and auto turner I will be candling tomorrow and I am collecting eggs for the Little Giant Still Air. So far temps in the Brinsea are very steady whereas the LG needs an occasional adjustment.
The major benefit of the LG bators is that you fit nearly twice the eggs into a cheaper machine.
But I am comparing hatch rates in a very scientific way. Same chickens, same eggs, same room, etc. So we will see what bator does best.
these were cool vidioes i just bought one and can't wait to hatch chickens and turkeys in it

You should get a digital thermometer with a probe for the brinsea incubator.
