  • I was in London on this very day and missed this concert. And it was free! Woe is me.

  • Amazing !!!!!!!! shivers....

  • Do you think he was talking about 2012. Damn Im really scared now even Queen knew about it and they were trying to warn us!!!

  • Freddie - your are everytime the best!

  • is a kind of psicadhelic

  • i love this song, but the song of the album in the studio is better and beautifull thans this live

  • Queen foghat 75great show riverfront cinn

  • This is art.................more than music

  • One of the best songs ever! Pure ART!!!

  • Freddie, you are fuckin' the best!

  • 6 people didn't listen to the madman

  • is about the sound quality of the voice , the natural talent, noone goes close to Freddie

  • Love this song! Queen rocks!

  • epic song

  • lol death on two legs!

  • 4:00

  • i LOVE the guitar in this song.....

  • LESSGROVES...que pedo!!! no mames...recuerda que es un video antiguo no seas mamon...por logica esta dañado...QUEEN siempre ha sido la banda mas grande de todas es una gran cancion y lo de que te estas quejando es solamente de la CALIDAD de este video...no te atrevas a decir que su musica y la voz de Freddie estan por debajo de lo que segun tu son...hey man consider the age of the video and the recording conditions besides ... it's not QUEEN or FREDDIE's fault...the best song ever!!!

  • this was definetely a STUDiO TUNE! Not only they could not PLAY it properly but they (and this includes Freddie) could not SiNG it like the album version. It's the first time i'm not pleased with a live performed song by these great band

  • omg! this is one of the best performances of queen ever! why cant i find this at any store? they need to release their live performances from the 70s on dvd. all i find at the store is their live stuff from the 80s.

  • You can hear some lyrics from Death On Two Legs at the middle :) Nice video

  • agreed..or at least shortened

  • prophet's song is one of my favourite Queen songs... !!! Simply brilliant!!!

  • les falla algo?? are you sick from your head...when any of you can sing like freddie and be such a man writte something...appart that...did you know this song story?? brian worked until 5 am and someone stold this song and put the unfinished song in the radio and poor brian woked up listening the unfinished song thinking it was a nightmare...

god save the queen ... and freddie we still love you

  • @javierailovequeen wow! where did you get that info? :D

  • @herothehedgefox

Brian said that at "the making of a night at the opera" or something like that..It's a DVD! it is AWESOME! you should get it!

  • Why are people arguing and not commenting about how FREAKING AWESOME this video is??!?!

  • wow !!!

  • this song is probably one of the best i've ever heard!!! i have to say I like the recorded version better, though

  • Freddie IS god, not that phony talked about in the bible

  • even when freddies voice isnt 100% like in this concert hes still pwns all these singers in this day and age.

  • I think you need to check out more singers to claim that. Now, musically and recordwise. That's another story. Just like Jimmy Hendrix on guitar, is not about singing alone.

  • i dont think i need to check any other singers all todays "artists" are quite shite to be honest there is the odd exeption but none are up to the standard of freddy in a poor priformance by his standard.

  • And you would think that someone who listens to queen is someone reasonable.

Your loss then. Keep adoring your idol blindly. Cause it looks to me that you listen to Queen more by fashion than by actual choice.

P.S. Thanks For the arrogant smartass response, is much appreciated.

  • well im 15 so i doubght its fashion that i listen to queen. if i liked queen for fashion how would i know about queen 1 queen 2 and all early songs / albums even unrelesed songs ive been to america to see queen and pr on their tour and it seems that people would agree.

  • Then be consequent. Don't be so ostracized and learn more about music. There are singers out there who have more range than Freddy did and a lot of sentiment on their singing. Thanks to MTV, they're not mainstream anymore though. So yo have to dig under. For you then it would be only a matter of repeating what you did with queen.

  • verry few male singers have more range or talent than freddie he has a extrodanary range and proved he could sing any genre. linking to my first point even with a bad voice he pwns 99.9% of todays singers

  • Please quote some examples. Then I'll tell you what I know. Btw at the end of Queen it was Roger who was covering for Freddy on the high range as he couldn't reach it. Actually it was always them and Brian who did the vocals. Freddy just could move between the two, Brian being the Low range. Brian himself said that Freddy had 3 /12 octaves which is good but I know singers who have more.Freddy was a GREAT musician, not just a singer. Tell me, Honestly, what do you know about singing techniques?

  • Hey he is called Freddie and not freddy..LOL...tosser!!

  • Pfft. Sorry ,I am not in love with him to know that. Actually who gives a damn. That's your choice, not mine. I am not even sure if that was an insult, a joke or a disdain. Whatever that's your prob not mine.

  • look i know little about singing im a guitarist of 6 years and have many bands so i have long discussions with my singers who agree with my comment. listen to a song called impromptu by queen and then tell me that freddie cant hit high and low notes

  • Of course he can. That's not the point. The point is that he's not the only one.

  • exactly and in my origional quote i said MOST could not reach tohse notes there is about one % of todays "artists" that can even sing properly

  • will do son shine

  • No male rock singer TODAY has Freddie's range. Now granted, back when Queen were in their prime, there were vocalists who had a wider range than Freddie (Robert Plant for example), but today? Nope.

  • @Gregsynth i love led zep, but Robert Plant did not have a wider range than freddie...

  • Freddie: F2-F5

    Plant: F#2-C#6

Those are the full voice ranges: Plant's is wider--but Freddie has the better voice.

  • @Gregsynth Plant has an E2, actually...but his C♯6s are falsetto for sure. Everything higher than B♭5 by him may in fact be falsetto.

  • E2-A5 (?)

    All right!

  • @Gregsynth

I barley believe Plant can do F#, but fine because of the song The Ocean where he gets kinda low pitched.

but freddie?! he got only to E3 and actually much much higher than just F5

  • I'm just talking non-falsetto:

Freddie can go up to E6 in falsetto!

  • @Gregsynth - Adam Lambert

  • What about Adam Lambert?

  • @Gregsynth You sed that no singer today comes close to Freddies range which is in fact not true...there are many singers including Adam Lambert, David Phelps, Myles Kennedy, Chris Cornell, Daniel Heiman...the list goes on and on. Don't get me wrong...Freddie is one of my fav vocalist but to be honest some of the skills these singers have outweigh the vocal skills Freddie has...especially live performance wise

  • I meant "modern" present-day vocalists (AKA late 2000s/2010 era). Nearly all the people you listed have narrower ranges than Freddie (Except Cornell and Heidman).

Plus Lambert, Cornell, and Heiman all scream their highest notes. Freddie doesn't.

Freddie's still the best live performer out of the people you listed.

  • @Gregsynth Type "David Phelps high notes 2" into the youtube search and watch that video...Mercury wishes he could sing like that live

  • Freddie still sings better. It's not so much the RANGE, but everything else (the showmanship, the music abilities, live improv, interaction with crowd, etc).

Plus you're comparing a Christian popera tenor, to a rock singer: It's apples to oranges.

  • @Gregsynth fuckin right there my friend!

  • Fuck yes!

  • @GuitarCrazy567 Technical ability is important, but sometimes it just boils down to the actual tone of the voice, and Freddie has the most recognizable tone of any singer in history. At least, too me. And one of the reasons Freddie didn't sing the same high notes live was because of his vocal nodules. He had to be careful.

  • and then out of nowhere he starts singing death on two legs!

    God this man is nuts!

  • he probably did death on two legs as a replacement for the really 'complex' delays in the vocal canon it wasn't funny improv.

  • Freddy perke´ti amo?

  • Amo Freddie Mercury,

  • Freddie's talents went way beyond rock music,

  • Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest rocks stars to ever live. God I miss him.

  • WoW! I was on this concert! The echo part was one of the most memorable parts of the whole show! Something I have never forgotten! Thanks for uploading this! Sure a part of my life, one of the best parts!

  • THIS SONG IS EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a mathematician and i know - it's Greek =))

    The song it GREAT!

Gran obra de May

  • tenes razon,bien dicho

  • A wonderful song of May!

  • I was at this gig. Shame there's no quality video of it because it's my second favourite gig of all. Best gig had to be Thin Lizzy in 1978 at Lewisham Odeon.

  • dont shut me, but... i think that Prophets song is good as (or better) than Bohemian Rhapsody.

never gonna be other human like Freddie.

  • Personally, I'd agree. Prophet's Song feels more complex in themes than BR, although they're probably about the same. Freddie was one of a kind, maybe rarer.

  • Bohemian Rhapsody is good, but I think that in the popular consciousness it overshadows a lot of their other truly amazing songs. Songs like this are definitely underrated, which is a shame.

  • Yeah I have to agree. Bohemian Rhapsody is definitely a masterpiece but they had so many amazing songs especially early on so its a shame that whenever you see anything about Queen its always Bohemian Rhapsody that they seem to focus on.

  • i dont know. I mean, this dong is great, really great, but BR is different, more... intense, powerfull... but thats my opinion

  • I absolutely agree with you, the only thing is that BR is so powerful and loved by so many people that you can't separate the song from the general feelings about it

  • Prophet's Song is basically Brian's Bohemian Rhapsody - think about it, they're both fantastic songs with immense overdubs and cosmic guitar

  • Prophets song is even better than Bohemian Rhapsody because of Freddy's harmonization in the interlude. Check the Classic Albums documentary on a Night at the Opera.

  • Agreed!

  • @Sadwalkers

I'd agree and say it's better!

  • @Sadwalkers it's quite better

  • @Sadwalkers Bohemian Rhapsody is better than Innuendo

  • En realidad esta Cancion es Una

    OBRA DE ARTE!

  • The quality of the video can be bad... BUT Queen is GREAT!!!

I never thought this song would had ever been sung in concert!!! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN: Freddie, John, Roger and Brian! That's real music!

  • As much as I love Queen, the video quality of this is HORRIBLE.

  • if you think that the quality is crap you should see the master tape than

  • Inhuman

  • freddie i love you!!!! R.I.P. Forever

  • good

  • good

  • I am surprised BM wrote such a profound song.

Because alot of his later material is very

    pop

  • What like Hammer To Fall and Fat Bottomed Girls.

    They're so pop-like!

  • hmm Brian's songs are very progressive or heavier

  • Comment removed

  • To Hojax666: there's an original video included in the limited edition of A Night at the Opera CD+DVD, where they made special videos for that DVD.

i didn't know this song could be done live!

    gracias por restaurar el video=D

  • Its like bohemian rhapsody, both change for live version, its simply imposibible to be played as the studio version.

    Queen is the best!!!

  • it's fantastic

  • I remember when I first heard this song at the age of about fifteen. I had to go and sit down for a bit.

  • chaos.

  • Ugh, poor Freddie. The echo machine broke down, which is the essential part of The Prophet's Song.

  • No, the machines didn't break down. There was something wrong with the soundmix but the audience could hear the echo's very well.

  • You're both wrong...Freddy could have attempted to build up layers of vocals the same way it sounded in the studio version (which would have been been done by mixing single tracks of his voice on tape on top of each other), because the echoplex was delayed at the right rate, but he chose to fuck around...maybe he got bored of doing it the same.

On the other hand, the melody of the studio version of the "The Earth will shake, in two will break, etc." was sung way lower (easier to do).

  • queen at a very high poit, to bad about the masters but good reconstruction.

  • la mejor de la reina!

  • the best of Queen...es la verdad..

  • genial!
