You probably didn't stick around for the next 5 hours to see the investigators collecting evidence if it were a search warrant on a drug house... If it was an arrest warrant, the felon they were looking for who is known to have/use firearms or has some other dangerous past that is a threat to everyone was not there, so they'll find him another day. At what cost? the cost of protecting the police that risk there lives to subdue criminals, sure there are some bad cops out there, but in reality a vast majority of them are just protecting themselves in the process of figuring out what it is you are doing if it is suspicious.
