RSW is an international airport and there are Air Berlin flights in and out of Ft. Myers. Air Berlin is just a company, there are many different places in germany they fly out of to FL.

@vdubtc AIR BERLIN flys all over Europe and to some destinations outside Europe. The regular flight fron the German City DUESSELDORF to RSW is operated with an A330 (an A 320 has not enough fuel to fligh such a long distance). This is NOR an AIR BERLIN flight - AIR BERLIN has always the AIR BERLIN sign at the winglets and the anouncemet would be in GERMAN!

@trainfreak7745 I can't imagine that. The distance between Düsseldorf and Michigan is ca. 8000 Kilometers, the actual A320 model has a maximum range of ca. 6100 Kilometers - so ther will be not enough fuel on board to fly the last 2000 Kilometers without any aditonal fuel-tanks.

KRSW (Southwest Florida International Airport) just started not too long ago their expansion project. They will be adding a new control tower, building a new runway (parallel to current one), adding 2 new concourses, and adding on to the current concourses. Expected completion is early 2025. Just started on new runway, control tower to begin within next few years!!! I live in area, so I know all of this info!!!

Actually taxi time is not logged as flight time. Flight attendants only get paid for time in the air. My sister in law sat taxiing for 4 hours before takeoff at MSP and the delays were so bad they had to return to the gate for fuel. She was pissed lol.

He opened them so he could descend faster without gaining to much speed. It is all about traffic. You can't always fly the way you want to. You gotta do what you gotta do to get that bird down on time and do your best not to piss off ATC.

Thanks, I use Flight Simulator X all the time, and I open spoilers when I'm descending at a normal rate (e.g. 2200 fpm) if I'm getting too fast, but I didn't know they would use them to increase their descent rate while staying at proper descent speed. Thank you for your response.

The pay scale is pretty low when you first start flying for airlines but it pick up pretty quickly. I don't think that I will ever get bored flying.
