I have never run a liquid rom on any of my phones but I'm sure its comparable. Just have to try and see, make a backup and you will have nothing to worry about and you can try the CM7 rom.

The reason your wireless hotspot isn't working is most likely because the the device dose not have a proper ip address configuration. If you run the windows 7 wireless troubleshooting it sets up a working ip address for you and you should have internet access through your cellular network.

Which radio is everyone using? I'm on the stock that came with Verizon's gb update a month or so ago. I was able to get network/4g working, but it seems to have stopped.

@MrBobchaizzle mostly mr2.0 or mr2.5 the updated roms now require it for proper radio function.

@TheGamersDomain I think its just the way the CM7.1.1 is built makes it more efficient. Plus there are a few performance tweaks that you can find in Cyanogenmod settings that are not available for other android stock roms that will also reduce your battery usage. Also always choose a black or very dark background for your screens. believe it or not that actually saves the battery life.

@kingzach74, yes the market works just fine except u will partially loose the carrier markets. For example I can't get the Skype Mobile app any more which exclusive to Verizon but I can still get their exclusive NFL App they offer. In terms of video chat, I use it all the time with gchat and with Skype. I got developers overseas and family in Europe and it works pretty damn good, and on WiFi no question. Haven't tried the app u mentioned but Iam sure it will work. + the CM7 team fixes stuf fast

@kbo206, I am in the DC/Baltimore metro area and my 4g is great. I get an average of 8mbps download and 3mbps upload speed. If Iam in the city my download goes up to 14-16mbps. I can't really complain about Verizon's service, It's great!

Does the Android market work at all with the CyanogenMod 7.1.1? I've been thinking about rooting my phone but I don't want to root it if I can't get the Android market. Do front facing cameras work in CMOD? Like can I use Qik Video Chat with my front facing camera, or Videochat or anything like that? I would like to be able to use my front facing cam for something and seeing as how I really don't have any friends with one I'd rather use a chatroom app.

@Azeon91, root your phone first upgrade to the MR2.5 radio, which we have a video for on our channel. Then download the "RomManager" app, the paid version and you can get the CM7.1.1 from there as many other cool Roms. The Rommanager will do all of the installation and other necessary things for you.

@iamunknown1988, that's an interesting issue. Actually I have noticed this as well, and majority of apps after installation do not appear in the app drawer. Very few do however especially when you open the app right after installation. I have found my self rebooting a bunch of time to be able to grab my apps out of the drawer to place them on my screens. This is something they have to fix.

@pabl0y, are you running radio MR2 OR MR2.5 OR MR3. MR3 does not work with cm7.1.1 at least they haven't specified it. I am using MR2.5 so if that may be the issue check out our video on installing that radio version and then reinstall cm7.1.1. Let us know if that helps.

@pabl0y, now that I had this rom up and running for about a week, the radio is working pretty well. No problem between switching from 4g to 3g but sometimes when I am on WiFi and then disable it and go back to 4g the tether WiFi function stops working. In that event I usually just reboot my phone which my faster now too that I have cm7.1.1

i have a question, i have a Samsung captivate and rom manager, but my rom manager has no cwm enabled. and when i click install cwm it says no stable server connection, help

@TechVitaminsTV well i flashed back to odin 1 and then installed cwm using hardcore speed mod and heimdall and then when the phone reset it did not go past the loading samsung galaxy gt-1900 screen. so im stuck please make a tutorial or tell me what is adb please.

Found a new bug: if you have a headset plugged in while you answer Google video chat call your mic will not work. Unplug the headphones end the call and call them back on video chat then it will work. This is NOT an issue while using Skype video chat.

Good case, I actually have the same one for my Thunderbolt, but I am running Gingeritis 1.3 with a few mods, its quite nice. I just cant wait to get Ice Cream Sandwich to get here
