Both sr1 and sr2 work perfectly fine on xp but before you start playing sr you need to turn off hardware acceleration or something like that, just google it.
There's a little patch that allows you to play the game on xp. I found it with google and it works. I don't remember the name because it was 2 years ago, but you can find it easily i think.
