I don't see why everyone is so upset about this video. I'm learning to pitch for leisurely baseball games with my friends, and because of that, his instruction is good enough. It doesn't really bother me to be the "best ever", at least as far as major league standards, because I'm not playing for that reason. If you're playing simply to be better than everyone else, you're playing for the wrong reasons.

You're suppose to throw a change up low in the zone, its better to throw it low for a ball, then up in the zone for a strike. If you throw it up, it gets hit a long way. If you guys want to throw a changeup up in the zone, be my guest. just dont be too sad when they hit a homer off of you.

I throw my change-up by where you grip your fastball and you turn it over and "cross the railroad tracks" it your middle and ring finger. You will also throw it just like a fastball and just as hard. With the way I grip it, it tails away from a left handed batter and comes in, if you will, to right handed batters.

Usually you grip it tighter to friction it down slower. Very loose and it won't slow down from friction as much.

You need to grip it tight for it to be a proper changeup. When you throw a fastball, whipping/extending your fingers can add 5-10 mph velocity to your pitch. The point of a changeup is to have the exact same arm action as a fastball, but by gripping it in your palm, your fingers don't add any velocity to the ball.

If you're gripping the ball loosely, then you're not throwing a changeup. You're throwing a fastball with slower arm action, and good hitters will recognize that.

This pitch looks just like a fast ball coming in and then it dies. You generally wanna throw it really low in the strike zone, even in the dirt, and inside on the batter. A lot of times the batter will jump at this pitch thinking its a meat ball and they end up looking like a fool when they swing out of their shoes or pop it up.
