  • I hate car problems mainly because I know nothing about cars, and you can never fully trust the people that "fix" the problem...

  • The worst is when no one lifts a finger to fix a problem that I keep complaining about!

  • @fehquig Just stay away from any mechanic named "Gus"... :P

  • Its not too to see so many taxis sitting around with no fares, but hopefully it will pick up. its the same here, the taxis are all lined up waiting, at the airport last time, our taxi driver said he was waiting 4 hrs for our fare, and there were a hundred taxis waiting in line, we were his 2nd fare in 10hrs. Whoo hoo for new car with NO SLIDING DOORS!!!

    Great news about your back!

  • In used to work the airport fleet back in the early 90s... That was torture! I'm glad my back is getting better. I can't afford the chiro bills and health insurance is not covering most of them :( At least I won't have to be reaching back to slam the sliding doors and sit in a crooked damaged seat, which I'm sure contributed to my back problems...

  • Yes this is true the times are not the hardest yet - that is to come.

  • I have been in training for the last three years... Bring 'em on!

  • Best of luck on the change to a new taxi, sounds like an adventure in the making! Which, of course, and judging from your car vlogs and travel vids, your life seems to be anyway! --An adventure, and I've yet to see you in a boring vlog, not even just sitting in a parking lot showing the town and the other cabs. I should loan you the loathly pompadour and shades to go to work in one night. It'd be darn entertaining, and bet the locals would talk about it for a long time! lol All the best :)

  • I could be Napoleon and say things like, "Josephine, you've got to quit starching my underwear!" and other things like that LOL Life is an adventure, and it's up to us to take it on the hard way or cultivate a sense of humor about it... I will have no regrets when I come to the end of this ride that they call life.

  • Wow Andy so many cabs to compete with! I hope this week is better for you. Yay Cindy is home!! So glad you're getting a better car... let's hope it brings better wages! Hugs!

  • This is nothing... I should show you some of the taxi lineups downtown! I don't work down there because it's even more discouraging. Having Cindy back home sure is great, and not having to deal with sliding back doors soon will sure be a treat! Two and a half years of that was just too much...

  • overall sounds like a lousy evening but at least the new boss seems OK, wow that sure was a lot of taxis in the lot... happy to know that your back is slowly getting better, that is good news !

  • I always have to correct people... The cab owner is NOT my boss! He is the owner of the cab and I pay him for using it. He is more of a business associate, and I am his client. I have not had a boss in almost twenty years , and that's just the way I like it! Should something not work out I can move on and drive someone else's cab. They will all be crying for drivers when more drivers quit because no one in the industry is making much money...

  • @fehquig I stand corrected... and I knew... should called him the landlord or something , lol !

  • @dagocleo Cablord?

  • @fehquig in Quebec he'd be Seigneur des bazous !

  • @dagocleo Bwahahahahahahaha!

  • Glad to hear the new car is coming soon, what flavor is it? Not a Prius I hope!

Yay for the back getting better! Being out of pain will give ya a better outlook.

  • He bought a Prius... If I had a choice I would have asked for a real car. As much as I dislike Prii because driving them feels like driving car arcade games from 1976, they are cheap on fuel and cheap to run because things like brakes don't wear out often... It's basically a low-maintenance go-kart with no soul.

  • Good to hear about your back getting a bit better. The exercises certainly will help keeping things mobile. Hope the month gets better cash in your pockets. cheers Andy! KtC

  • As I sit here eating my wieners and beans I am thankful that I still have some wieners and beans...

  • Can't say mine is any better. The delivery car which I get to use for personal business sometimes got stolen along with my wallet. I've blogged in it quite a bit. We've gone beyond a simple depression, this is a global systemic breakdown.

  • Things are crumbling slowly, and this breakdown will be a good thing in the long run when a more rational and sane economic system is devised, however I don't much enjoy the suffering that we will have to endure while it all falls apart... We are living in interesting times.

  • Sounds like the new taxi car owner might be a better guy than the old one.

  • The three brothers who bought the taxis have a reputation that makes other taxi drivers say, "Watch Out!" but to their credit they apparently don't run garbage trucks and call them taxis... We will see, no doubt!

  • $20, omg

  • It sure beats not making the lease!
