Having driven on this road every morning and afternoon for several years before this and up to now, I can say I find it ridiculous that someone actually spent an absurd amount of money to do this. Wasn't the road's fault it had so many wrecks before, it's because people are stupid. Funny thing, first time I was ever rear ended occurred after this change smack in the middle of this crossover. Traffic has quite noticeably slowed since this change (never had been stopped up past Ft. Harrods).
I'm on the right side of the road, now on the left, can I turn right there? which of those lights is mine? back on the right side of the road. Good to see Lexington is finally doing something about its awful road design... unfortunately they're just making it worse. You'll see more wrecks on this stretch of road than anywhere else in Lexington.
@danjar7 Exactly. How can Lexington expect people to possibly understand the concept of following lines on a road and not driving directly at on coming traffic?
@poop2poop2 Because, if you haven't noticed, people are generally pretty freaking stupid, don't drive well, and react poorly to change. Other than that I'm sure it'll be fine.
@danjar7 Don't disagree with that. But you would have to be a monumental asshole/idiot to make an almost 90 degree turn into traffic when the proper lane is directly across from you. Also, what are the chances one of these people will be first at the light with no traffic coming the other way? I mean that's really the only way someone could possibly go in the wrong lane. If there is traffic it will be impossible to go the wrong way because there will be cars taking up the lanes

@danjar7 the state is doing this and that stretch of road already has the highest rate of wrecks in Fayette Co

@danjar7 Yeah, it totally doesn't work anywhere else in the world. I'm glad traffic engineers are on hand here on YouTube.
