  • My mom has been working at poland springs for five years and they are not taking anyones water except for the water that nestle owns not the towns and do you think that the water that they are taking is the entire towns water supply it isnt. The water that nestle is taking is not even nearly the amount that people are saying it is just a tiny amount and this is crap what they are saying there is not any problem in maine at all. I have been living here in maine my whole life. There is no problem.

  • Boycott Nestle' !!!

Nothing is more effective than hitting them in thier pocket books.

We don't need to be eating that crap anyway.

  • I hope that they do not get to pump there. Just imagine how much water will get pumped from there. The impact on the surrounding environments will be catastrophic.

  • Boycot all Nestle products!

  • fight the man, maine. fight the man.

  • Fuck Nestle and fuck the Zionist Fed agents and corrupt pigolice who would abuse the People and rob us of our hard-earned money and properties!

  • Kennebunk Kennebunk Kennebunk

  • Yes home of the Bush Camp! Blah I used to live in Portland!

  • What we need to do is build desalination plants powered by solar/wind/tidal power for the corporate robber barons who couldn't care less about the rest of us.

  • Regarding the Obermann comment, Jamilla is much prettier than Obermann although I agree he does have an effeminate profile. If he were a woman, however, hed lose in the contest against Jamillias inner and outer beauty. Having said that, both Jamilla and Obermann do articulate a message that resonates with real working people and maybe this explains their success in representing the interests of the people and not multinational, greedy corporate interests.

  • And you know what, Nestle / Poland Spring? You want to pump in Maine? Start with my septic!!!!

  • Come on, Jamilla is gorgeous. She stays away from bottled water!

  • this woman is beautiful on the outside and on the inside!

  • Poland Springs used to be a local Maine company, but it is now owned by the Nestle Corp. Local reaction to Nestle's barrage of slick advertising was negative. Nestle also sent out two mailing with erroneous hours for when folks could vote, launched a smear campaign against leaders of the resistance, and harrassed them by calling in false complaints of vandalism.

Maine says NO to corporate bullshit.

Go Jamilla & all who worked so hard for victory in Wells & Kennebunk! Lead the way!

  • Off topic, but the woman looks like Keith Olbermann...

  • Nestle shill.

  • everytime our state has water reserves the COE empties it. In 2 more years, per the Federal govt, we wont be able to draw from the largest body of water in our state. In Colorado, it is illegal to collect rainwater-

  • Maine loves the water: hates the gays.

  • Poland Springs (like any extractor) is interested FIRST in PROFITS.

Water should be held in the public trust.

Water is THE MOST VITAL RESOURCE.

  • it is funny how corporations fucked up the water supplies and now that they made it scarce they are also buying it and profitting all over again

    oh the joys of capitalism!

  • some things should never be privatized

  • Maine has something no other place in America has, something that once gone we might never see again ... a McDonalds where you can order pizza! XD

  • Don't let these clowns steal your water. Everyone can agree to this. PLEASE stop them. SPREAD THE WORD

  • fuck insurance companies

  • Groundwater resources are limited.

A simple solution: Find the places that, due to climate change, are getting more rain. Then collect water there.

  • not that simple, these places that are getting more rain are generally flooding

  • Exactly. It will require a shitload of engineering to do it. But that is what is going to HAVE TO HAPPEN, if people are going to continue to live there.

  • use rain water and solar power to clean it... just for those like several Native tribes who have had their water taken from them.

  • Nestle is also stealing municipal water from towns in the Philippines. The problem of monopolistic greed of Nestle is really global.

  • in a region/town of bolivia(?) they forbid the public collecting rain, `cause them nestle bought all their water, so ppl would be being prohibitet of even collecting rain from their own roof or soil. //reversed but true.

  • see the documentary "we feed the world"

    nestle is simply evil

  • NESTLE is trying to build a plant in Sacramento now, thanks to our corrupt Mayor, Kevin Johnson, who has a history of charterizing public schools, gutting the collective bargaining rights of teachers' unions, and is the subject of an FBI investigation for obstruction of justice with regard to an IG investigation into fiscal misuse of Americorps funds and child sexual abuse allegations made against Johnson himself... He's now apparently in bed with NESTLE...

  • better stop them, before they get your water supply

  • keep water local. do not let your water fall into corporate hands.

  • water is abundant it flows from the ground, protect it yes, but most or all most all products use water, any limit to industry is to be watched closely sometimes office politicians are not down to earth and the solutions become bigger problems. im just saying we all have a right to be heard in matters that affect us all. What Main has to battle is deforestation and chemical pollution from factories, and not bother the products themselves are what people need, if you restrict another will provide

  • Look for the documentary "Flow" on DVD, it was released last year but is excellent.

  • @cddorcas1

thanks for the recommendation. looking now... :D

  • Power to the People!

  • I'm not going to buy nestle water anymore. What a bunch of douches.

  • never bought it, the first time I saw one of their bottles years ago, I immeadiately though ... BULLSHIT!

  • who cares, it's all good

  • No debate in the science world on the issue of potable water being the biggest looming disaster for our species on this earth. Ask anyone who knows the state of clean fresh water and acquifer stores. Pollution, salinity, over-tapping, glacial reduction from AGW and irrigation needs have all stressed the supply. This is an immediate problem that we don't need to wait to see happen. It's happening now.

  • One good vote from Maine. That's great!

  • Didn't Nestle just get kicked out of Denver for trying to take peoples water?

  • If the bottle doesn't say Evian or Fiji it's just fecal contaminated tap water anyway!

  • shit i love poland springs water if they stop bottling its im going to maine and taking it lolz no foreal its my fav and would really suck ass if they stop production

  • Translation to the Nestle quote (as always with corporate greed) " We'll give you money if you let us fuck up your water supply." :)

  • whey togo fuck nestle their crooks.

  • Our efforts must focus on corporate criminals' polluting and raping of the earth instead of being directed to distraction over non-existent "threats" and "catastrophes" with the "global warming" issue. That, my friend, IS A PROVABLE LIE, while globally, corporate crime (USA, Inc., et al) is off the charts! Mike, please review Nobel Laureate, Lord Christopher Monckton's speech, given last month in St. Paul, MN. Also watch 'Fall of the Republic', available online. Let the scales fall away.....

  • BASICALLY: They want to steal your water, Put it in a non-biodegradable plastic bottle, Then sell it to you.

  • i like the port district's name

  • bingo.
