  • Gamefreak is not owned by Nintendo, they are a private developer. They can make games for any console.

  • @mijuwott29 Check bulbapedia

  • @TheNinwii Or Ledian!

  • the music sounds like teh pokemanz

  • Nice video, but the sound quality man... I know black metal bands with better sound quality.

  • @deektedrgg Metal bands? That's harsh, man.

But really, back when I uploaded it, YouTube had a very strict size policy. As I said in the description, I had to compress it via Windows Movie Maker into an incredibly low file size. I could have sworn that it sounded decent before compression. Also, I would like suggestions on recorders since I'm not sure of the quality of Camtasia Studios anymore... I also feel like I made this so long ago. I could do better now.

    Still, funny ass comment man.

  • Sonic colors took Cyan Wisp power from this XD

  • @xJimmyVx5 I think Jazz Jackrabbit fit the bill better.

  • UNDERRATED

  • music is so pokemon.

  • ooops! thought this was megaman.

  • I loved this game. Thank you.

  • i just noticed, Pulseman looks like Bisharp from black and white

  • This is made by Gamefreak! The same people who made Pokemon!!

  • @xJimmyVx5 i was thinking the same thing

  • @Byakuga100 This games from the 90s. This is actually a REFERENCE, not a RIP OFF.

  • @Byakuga100 wait... what?

  • This Folks, is the Ancestor of Rotom.

  • @Byakuga100 *GASP* you mock my fav pokemon? HOW DARE YOU! arceus, destroy him with Judgement, and madgicarp, well, just splash his corpse...

  • @Byakuga100 He's supposed to be a Pulseman reference.

    Also, real edgy hating Pokemon.

I bet you're the only kid in the 6th grade who does.

  • I was drawing one day creating a caracter for my self and somebody said i copy it form pulseman? and now that i got to see dice caracter and it almost looks alike... almost

By the way you guys say that SEGA and GAMEFREACK made this ....MAN!!! Pulseman could have had a awsome come back in Super Smash Bros Brawl!!!

  • I can't believe I *JUST* found out about this game. This is awesome. Then again, it was influenced by megaman, so it has to be.

  • this looks like sega tried mixing sonic with megaman, and it came out decently.

  • Who wants a sequel for the Wii/3DS?

  • It's kind of funny that Rotom can't learn Volt Tackle, despite this game.

  • 0:35 .... That music ..... pokemon ?

  • @weasel4442 Well Pulseman and Pokemon were both made by Satoshi Tajiri. Surprised you didn'tmention how Pulseman seems a lot like a Sega Megaman

  • @weasel4442 The games have the same composer, Junichi Masuda.

  • Nice presentation ^^ You can also attack / evoid damages by using the uncharged Voltteccer btw !

  • @bashfrog Yeah because the creator of Pokemon made Pulseman, it came out 2 years before Pokemon Red and Blue.

  • nice game!

  • Pulseman's diagonal jump move = Volt Tackle!

  • @Zerane07 Actually Pulseman's move is called Volteccer, which is the original Japanese name for the Volt Tackle, so yes, they're oficially the same move

  • Mega Man X + Sonic = This game.

  • this remindes me of sonic

  • why does japan always get the good games? :-(

  • I kinda wish Ken could work with SEGA to create another Pulseman, but sadly if they did they'd be pulling what Square Enix did and Nintendo would banish them from working for them....bastards...(Nintendo that is)

  • Café Alex? XD Reference to Alex Kidd?

  • @xela12345 That's what I'd like to know.

  • One last thing to mention why are the voices and music very static and fuzzy like it's like the game wasn't tune to perfection to sound crisp and clear?

  • This game looks like it's half Mega Man and half Sonic the Hedgehog though more Mega Man like I would have to say especially the first world Pulseman is in it looks very much like he's in the world of a computer.

  • Of all genesis games, I would LOVE to have Pulseman on XBOX LIVE!

  • @DHAZEDXZ lol totally agree

  • I want this to come out on XBLA or in the next Sonic Compilation

  • @bisnumber1

Sorry but Nintendo will be very angry with xbox..

  • @Iori400 Actually if Sega owns rights to the code and characters. They could put it on Xbox with no problem

  • @bisnumber1

I SAID SORRY BUT NINTENDO WILL BE VERY ANGRRRRRYYY!!

God damn what part of that sentence do you not understand!? X.X

  • @Iori400 Oh know I get you Nintendo would just be pissed I thought you talking about copyright problems

  • wow, you make it look so easy and somehow much more fast paced

  • this game feels like a cross between megaman and pokemon somehow...

  • wow the music sounds like from pokemon, i can see why this was made by the makers of pokemon

  • The Stage 1 music sounds strangely familiar to the Rival battle theme from Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.

  • we need a DS sequel

    go Gamefreak!

  • volteccer volttackle hehehe and pulseman look like rotom aaaah game freak

  • SEGAAA give all the rights to GameFreak pleaaaase

  • Pulseman remidns a lot Megaman

  • Pulseman is Megaman... except with much more powers.

  • I actually thought his jump flip kick was a useless attack; this vid's kinda proved me wrong xD. Would've made the 1st boss a bit easier (though he's not really that tough either, so long as you don't hug the screen sides ;). Great shot at the 1st stage; hopefully you'll put up a few more?!?

  • Can japanese Mega Drive games work on the American Genesis?

  • You'll need a game genie to break the region protection of this game.

  • it is worth the 900 points. its really good

  • I've got to get this game

  • You've obviously gotten more used to the controls than I have :P

  • clearly, they released this game to compete with the likes of megaman. a megaman answer, i assure you this is not. that said. i am definitely getting this game. i am a retro gamer at heart.

  • In my opinion, it's not *quite* like megaman; I can see some of the likenessess but not a lot. The Megaman games are bastardly tough on memorization; this game does focus a good bit on memorization (especially if you're just dashing and velteccoring through stages ;), but it's more doable in that respect than the MM games. And that's a good thing. There's also not as much a focus on enemy combat as the MM games, but I've really just began playing this recently. It's awesome; retro games FTW.

  • jesus christ teh genesis had teh worst audio

  • Don't compare an emulator with real hardware, you stupid pikmin.

  • Is he saying something he shouldn't?

  • it just released on US Virtual Console this week for $9

  • it looks like a pretty cool game

  • Comment removed

  • Did you know that the music for stage 1 in this game was remixed has the trainer battle theme for Pokemon Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow?

  • you can really hear it if you listen close enough.

  • They still haven't released this on the Virtual Console in the US, and I remember seeing it on the ESRB site...

  • Just got released tonight in Europe.

  • They need to release this on the Virtual Console. It was done with the other obscurely known game, Alien Soldier and it was great!

  • it needs approval for sega. Sega was only playable with Pulseman

  • Pulseman getting released next month on Wii VC as part of the Hanabi festival

  • What is Hanabi festival

  • and some fish thing in the under water level in this game, they're supposed to look like Remoraid.

  • i just realized pulse mans special move is like Pikachu's Volt Tackle :D

  • It's pretty obvious, considering Pulseman's move is called volteccer.

  • Huh...the music sounds like a Pokemon song...But which ine does it sound like....??

  • the trainer battle theme from the original games...?

  • The Vs. Rival theme in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum is a remix of the first stage music of Pulseman

  • Ken Sugimori AKA the artist for Pokemon, was the artist for this game. The battle music for Pokemon is this music remixed.

  • its the Gym leader battle GEn 1 theme

  • those flying cyclops things somehow remind me of magnemite lol, and this kinda reminds me of sonic the hedgehog

  • Funny you should mention Magnemite! Gamefreak are the guys behind the gameboy/DS Pokemon games.

In fact, one of the newest ones, Rotom, is based off Pulseman. Makes sense since Pulseman is a "dead series" and Rotom is a Ghost/Electric.

  • WTF!

    Why was gamefreak with Sega!?

    Nintendo and Sega DONT MIX!!

  • Lol I have no idea Game Freak was with SEGA, when they've been after Nintendo for a while, I doubt this game will come on Wii 'cause this is a SEGA game. Like you said the two companies don't mix.Anyway

its pretty random, but this game is awesome, have you played this?

Some things in hear look like pokemon, I've already noticed 3 things in designs ,Rotom is based off Pulseman, those flying cyclopses look like Magnemite, and those weird bird things at 2:03 looks like the Pokemon Xatu, or Natu.

  • I mean I have no idea WHY they were with SEGA.

  • GAH! stop replying!

  • Holy shit, I nearly forgot about the awesomeness that is Pulseman. I actually got to play this on an imported cartrige back in the day and couldn't put the controller down. I must say, the Volteccer has got to be the best infinite, power-up attack in any video game (next to Mega Man's Powershot).

  • Hmm... similar to Sonic, I think.

  • Its Ristar and Knuckles' Chaotix mixed together.

  • Correct, my amigo.

  • Thanks, that's kind of what it looked like to me.

  • holy smokes this looks awesome

  • Did I hear a kirby 1 up in there

  • you're right--the rival theme's a remix of this song...sort of a little nod to Gamefreak's first creation. :D the Pokemon Rotom is also similar, in that it can possess electrical things and such.

  • Don't forget Pikachu's hidden move Volt Tackle (Volteccer), which is Pulseman's pinball sort of move.

  • @Tacster002 and there is a 5th gen pokemon that resembles pulse man

  • Hmm...This is an interesting discovery. Don't know why they didn't release it in america. Kids(Like me) ate up that kind of stuff.

  • It was in the Sega Channel. But no catridge, I was expecting them to atleast release it in Europe ):

  • let's just hope sega and gamefreak allow nintendo to import this game on the Virtual Console.

  • Rather PSN,everything doe snot need to go to VC.Though that's the only good thing about the Wii so I guess it needs this game more than PSN or XBL.

  • i forgot about XBL (seeing as they have Streets of Rage 2 as well)
