Im 6foot 200+lbs and this kicked the $h!t out of my wrists!!! I dumped a whole mag of this, and after I was done, the pinky extension grip broke my skin!!! Of course this isnt a 50. But for its size and being a top heavy gun thats plastic! Lol, this ammo kicks like crazy in a G29!
well I am 5'7'' 148 just ordered glock 20 full size,my first pistol was LAR 45 win mag which I shot without a hitch 20 will be a walk in the park I think.
I'm new to your channel; but, in the past ten days, or so, I've watched maybe 25 of your videos. I feel compelled to say: Intelligence, discernment and an uncanny ability to maintain composure during the occasional, swirling maelstrom of ignorance. Godspeed and keep up the good work.
I love how everyone gives you their "EXPERT" advice on shooting, thats the best part of this video.Makes me laugh ha ha ha. They shoot WAAAAAAAAAAY better than you!
@valencleo What I love is how everyone latches onto the current preferred grip method and then forgets that does not work with all guns and all hands. I could not do a thumbs forward grip on this gun if I wanted to...
Can't wait for my 29 to come in. I know of one round that goes 1600 fps the hornady I got only goes 1180 fps, and the blazer is about 1000 fps. Out of a glock 20 the recoil is very similar to a 45 on most rounds. for the guy that asked earlier( Mrdannees). Good Vid.
to be honest, some people here are correct. you need to change how your left hand holds your strong right hand. you are almost shooting it one handed. not trying to be a jerk, im only helping another Glock man.
I shoot the G29 with Buffalo Bore, Double Tap, Swamp fox etc. frequently as I believe in practicing with my carry loads. The G29 is more snappy than a .45 but not by much.
It is what it is, some folks are not capable of handling the recoil...in which case, you will want to stay away from all magnum calibers above .357. No offense intended, looks like your defeated attitude carries over from something else. A big fellow ought to be able to handle this with a little bit of proper training and a 'can-do' attitude. Before you get upset with my humble opinion, re-read your own words in the intro, good luck.
Haven't heard that since 3rd grade and the truth is it is still just as effective. Not quite up there with the "I'm rubber and you're glue" rebuttal but still an astute response nonetheless! lol
I dunno, you seemed to take the recoil pretty well. Your grip could use some work, but the recoil from those Buffalo rounds is something freaky. I put some through my 1911 once, my hand was nice and sore for a week. Totally worth it.
lol, PUS___! no . i cant call you that , it is a handfull , and not for everyone , dont be ashamed if you can only shoot a 9mm or 40 s&w , both are very respectable .
@TheYankeeMarshal:How is that G29 with an average (non Buffalo Bore) 10MM round i.e. recoil wise? Have you tried using a 15 round G20 mag with a A&G Glock grip extension? It seems like it will work good for more control.
Great ammo, i use RBCD TPD ammo in my 9mm Glock 19c and ,45 Kimber TLE II and i use Double Tap 400 grn in my .454 Alaskan, Buffalo Bore is hot ammo also
Training scars. Change your grip and you will be better able to handle the recoil. Check out Travis Haley on proper grip. Something I learned is to never let your ego get in the way of improvement. Good video, and good luck.
I had the same experience — Buffalo Bore ammo, Glock 29, and my ass got kicked. I tried firing it one handed and missed the target completely. My other shots were all the fuck over the place. Next I'm gonna try the G20, but my days of shooting the Glock 29 are over.
@TheYankeeMarshal The 20 is a full frame and the 29 is a sub compact frame. The 20 holds 15+1 and the 29 is 9+1...or 10+1... Either way... 10mm is much bigger than 9mm and can kill 4 men in one shot.
The glock 20 is a nice platform for the round. To be honest, with the hottest 10mm loads, it's still easier on my hands than the glock 22 is with hot 40 loads. The recoil is much slower with the 10mm, due to the extra weight in the slide. My model 20 is compensated as well, amazing how controllable it is. I don't think I'd recommend a non-C model.
Yah, my daughter. I haven't put any videos of me shooting any of my guns because I live in Cali, and people from Cali that see me shooting guns think I'm a psycho or that something is wrong with me. Gun laws are
are a joke here. Nonetheless, my comment wasn't made directly at you, it was in general of guys that complain about too much recoil. I didn't mean to offend or insult, so take it like a grain of salt.
Im way smaller than you and don't see the big deal in the recoil. Obviously it's more than a 9mm, but either guys who complain about this probably haven't shot enough in their life time or are just crybabies. I just don't get it???
@jbravo70 Yes, I was just saying to myself as I watched all your videos of you shooting Buffalo Bore ammo that you did so much better than I did with it...oh wait...those were all videos of little girls dancing.
YEah, leaning forward more and gripping the gun with the "parallel thumbs" method will help you tame most of that recoil. Nice gun though, if only 10mm wasn't an arm and a leg per box
That's kind of how I felt recently when I got around to shooting .357 Magnum in my LCR-357. I had been shooting .38 Special +p and it shoots very well. I found Hornady Critical Defense .357 Magnum had quite a surprising punch! I'm going to practice more with hand loads and work my way up.
I use straight Double Tap loads in my 29- it might have been a tough load, but you stepped up to the plate and gave it your best- thanks for the video!
Look up "weaver pistol stance". This, with a slight mod of the stance, with the off-hand index finger putting pressure straight back on the the trigger guard, is supposed to be very effective for the G29.
Yankee , I carry a Smith 629 44 mag loaded with 44 spl CorBon Dpx as a self D round . I have been in two street shootings and one bad guy got a CCi 45 acp in the torso from me and 10 years for attemp murder from the state . So I speak with real life know how . Shot placement and NOT power trump all caliber choices . The Glock 10mm is a fine tool . But I too find the grip / flip combo to be more then what I want to count on when my chestnuts are about to hit the fire . Maybe try a reduced load
@thirdeyeguy I agree 100% with what you are saying. In a larger gun I can do a more proper grip, but in this gun a more forward weakhand does not work for me. I have to do a thumbs forwars grip with my fingers dropped to prevent injury.

@jdillow85 It is not a cup & saucer grip. It is actually a modified thumbs forward griop. Because of the size and shape of the glock grip I have to drop my fingers a bit to prevent injuring my weak hand. On a larger gun I fair a bit better with my grip, but I have never been able to on the small ones. Luckily I have no plans to compete. I also addressed my horrid flinch in the P290 video. In fact I made a video all about it but am not sure I want to post it because I look like a wuss in it.
I love 10mm, I keep my glock 20 loaded with double tap 165 grain JHP. It sucks though last time I checked they are up from $38 for a box of 50 to $65. Of course that was only on one website maybe cheaper elsewhere.
