@hurricaneboxing China had long before the rule of Qin Shi Huang Di a lot of Kingdoms,like Chu, Wen, Qin and so on. They all practices Martial Arts for a long time. The most well known and best recorded may be the Go Ti. Daoist existed a very long time before the Daoist Religon. Remember that according to myth Lao Zi was also a member of a Daoist sect and Zhuang Zi said that he recorded only that what is ancestors had already said a long time ago. @NTDMartialArts you have to look for primary sources and scholarly references and not just use hearsay to support your claims. Have you heard of Ma Mingda, a renown Chinese martial arts historian? or professor Meir Shahar or Stanley Henning? Read their works and then you will have a better understanding on this topic.

@NTDMartialArts even Lao zi, Zhuang Zi said they recorded ancestors, it does not mean chinese martial original from Taoist. every nation's martial is originaled from their primitives which created for fight to beast. even a early taoist taught martial to Chinese in Neolithic, his art must be from the early primitives, he only could summarize the arts from different clan/kampong,

@NTDMartialArts or wise, his art was offered by god in one day...?? in the ancient age, the traffic was poor, so that many areas lacked of exchanging with each other. Even if he brought the art to Huangdi, Yangdi, Chiyou, he could not spread his art to all the clan/kampong of China mainland........... look at 100 years ago. The traffic had had car, iron horse, however, Xingyi did not really spread to southern of China, Which is called "Chinese three main internal art."

@NTDMartialArts no one believe Chinese kungfu came from Shaolin (in fact, Shaolin Kungfu came from common people),or Damocles create ALL Shaolin Kungfu styles. or, the taoist came from other country (such as india) and bring his art to Chinese area...?? the recent legend of chinese kungfu is just Bruce Lee. oh, Bruce Lee is the no.1 of human, Bruce Lee is invincible, Bruce Lee is......................
