I have done surgery during pregnancy for 6 patients and all are doing well
there are many many surgeons by now who have done laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy
during pregnancy. by and large it is a safe procedure

I am currently 4 weeks pregnant and also diagnosed with a very large dermoid cyst on my right ovary. I am scheduled to go in for surgery when I reach 14 weeks. I am concerned it will risk my pregnancy. fingers crossed!

yes it is definitely removed as far away from the patient as possible, into the
pathology lab and a few patients have concieved once or twice after removal of such tumours from the ovay in my experience.

Shouldn't this be opened up once it is detached & removed as far away from the patient as possible? It's interesting and all, but ugh!
