guitar sounds like its tuned down a half step. does that make it easier to snap the strings or just your preference?

Indeed. very good man. But you do need a lot more POP in your  plucks. that is what gives it a country sound

You can hear him pluck the strings hard. Single coils, a compressor and slapback and he'd have nailed the tone. Thanks for the lesson, poster.

@TheFunkify I think all of those elements combined may make it a bit too twangy. Single coils would definitely be cool though.
