Something I don't like when I've seen film of the current b and b at 92 Second Street, is they don't have Lizzie's bedroom set up the way she had it. Her bed was set diagonally from the corner, and the door between her and Andrew and Abby's room was partially behind her headboard. That door then was also kept shut and locked, and some say nailed shut.

This really brings home that Abby wasn't surprised by the killer. She was on the far side of the bed. So she saw whoever the killer was, coming into the room and over to her side of the bed before the killer struck at her.

Did she see the hatchet as whomever was entering the room and coming around the bed at her? You'd think she must have.. not an easy thing to hide.

Why didn't she cry out?

So many mysteries about it.

This is ridiculous. This house is not haunted at all. This house was a private residence from the day of the murders until 1996 and no one ever reported it being haunted until it became a B&B! And for the record the house has been totally gutted. There is nothing original to it except for woodwork, a few door knobs and 3 windows and the radiators...the rest is all gone except for the exterior of the house.

Exactly saxm that means that abby had to alredy knoe who was her killer and trust them... she prob didnt see the hatchet that lizzie had... it had to be lizzie because that would be the only reason she wouldnt scream. I read a theory once where someone said that Abby WOULD have been alarmed seeing Lizzie with an axe. That Lizzie wasn't in the habbit of chopping wood. And that the animosity between them, Abby would have been very alarmed seeing Lizzie advancing tword her with an axe. But she WOULDN'T have been alarmed seeing Bridgette with an axe.. as she was a servant and more likely to have used an axe for chopping wood for the stoves.

I do think Lizzie was the killer though. Either by herself or with help. I'm suspicious of Uncle Morse. He behaved very strangely that morning. He could have hired a hit man on his neice's behalf.

I always wondered if what set Lizzie off was the fact that Abby was in the spare room making up the bed. I'd read that Lizzie and Emma set up their own living quarters up there on the second floor, consisting of their bedrooms and that spare room. Abby and Andrew had the back of the second floor for their space. Lizzie and Emma used the spare bedroom as a privae parlor at times. And straightened that whole area themselves. Abby being in that spare room could have been seen as an intrustion by

I think the murder of Abby in this room is the more incriminating of the two crimes. Lizzie claimed Abby received a note from a sick friend, yet afterwards no one claimed to send this note or knew anything of it. Safe to say the note was a fabrication. It's easy today to almost admire Lizzie as a woman pushing against the limitations of her era, but there remains an immensely strong circumstantial case against her.

Also, think about this. There was a 2 hour time lapse between Abby Bordens murder and Andrew Borden's murder.
