Calculating z scores

There is no .8907 in the middle of any of the tables I have... It goes from .0003 in the top left hand corner to .5000 in the bottom left hand corner. Where do you get .8907 from? This was not clear at all.

is it possible to find/calculate by hand the z-score when the area/probability is given? and when it is interpolated between two numbers (eg. find z value when area is 0.490, i'm sure it's 2.326) if so, how?

Your z-score is inaccurate. 1.23 comes out to .1093? Not anywhere near .8907. Do people have different z-score tables cause I keep getting different associations from these videos b/c that is not what my z-score table reflects.

okay, i just checked it on my calculator and it gives me 1.06 for z.

still it would be nice to know why the table was wrong.

for the second one, i cant get the z value for .8560 because there is no .8560 on the table!

1.06 is actually 8554 on the table.

now im more confused than before!!!! :(
