nyc, you should read a little bit before writing. There were real links betwen 1965 genocide in Indonesia with 1979 one in Cambodia: Suharto studied to sent troops to help Lon Nol but they decided to send militar (genocide) advisors for repeating killings on 1965 in Cambodia.

On the other hand, if Pol Pot acted with such ferosity it was because he studied indonesian experience while he was in Pekin in 1965. He concluded that the best way to avoid the PKI fate was armed strugle.

In 1965 Pol Pot was in Peking, observing the slaughter of not less than a million of PKI members in Indonesia.

Yes that is true. In fact while the Khmer Rouge did hide in Vietnam during 1969-71, the VC and NVA quickly turned hostile towards them because of their racism against Vietnamese as well as the fact that the USSR intervened and told them that despite their non-communist ideology, they still wanted cordial ties with the Lon Nol government. Vietnam abandoned all ties and all support from that point on came from the Chinese. So it is not fair to totally blame the Vietnamese.

Lon Nol had the right idea for Cambodia. The title of this video should be " Kill all Khmer Rouge". Had Lon Nol remained in power, Cambodia would have prospered. In fact according to accounts of those that lived in 1970 to 1975, they all confirmed it was a time of prosperity. Country only went to hell when Sihanouk helped the KR destroy Lon Nol. The result is mass murder of innocent men women and children. The Viets saved Khmer in 1979, or none of you are here today to write on youtube.

In 1970 he was overthrown and went to China. He aroused the peasants in Cambodia to help the KR, which resulted in an explosion of KR power. The KR came to power with Sihanouk's help. The commie Chinese supplied the KR weapons under Sihanouk's nose to kill Khmer. The US, CHINA VIETNAM AND THAI kills khmer, but Sihanouk paved the way.
