I think marketing is higher than finance, without customer relationship there would be no money coming in.
Also, marketing is about supply and demand, its business intelligence at its core - if your product or service has no demand then its useless, there will be no finance behind it - This is a marketer's view of business.
Marketing will be more important than finance because business requires more intelligence in this area to succeed with the advent of the internet, not more money thrown @it
I definitely agree. Although most marketers can be a bit less bright on the academic side, they make huge headway in actually getting businesses noticed and rounding up clients. The old model of conducting business is dead, and has been so for about 5 years. In my sector (entertainment), we don't only need spreadsheets, but also a way to connect to our clients, so they can relate their needs back to us, and thus we expand. Communication is a lot more personal.
