@used2bBlue: i m white! and i recommand you..serve them..and you will understand...the flashy dress is the most nice expresion they bring in a world around them on many place that is dark, poor, and many more bad things! i wish we white could do so! and....i surrenderd also :-) you?
Please don't get me wrong I know that there is plenty wrong with the white christian community because I belong to it and there are inumerable indictments against it and the Church as a whole. I've just never asked that question to a black person and was curious to know what they feel the scripture was saying to us specifically when it commanded us not to love the world or the things in it or not to conform to it. Most white believers don't have a clue.
Sometimes I wonder, as a black man what is your concept of worldliness as pertaining to the scripture is? I see so much religion in the black community but you seldom see a complete seperation from the pride of life flashy dress fleshy posturing it seems like you they can turn God on and off in their live whenever the consequences or conversation dictate the need.I love black people but my fear is that the pride they clinged to for so long has become as stumbling block to their christianity.
