  • I bought The DVD's. it comes with the TABS. the DVD is awesome, But the TAB IS NOT ACCURATE, you have to dig in yourself for the details ! They just try to lure you to buy. so if you want to buy and expect to learn from it , DO NOT BUY. unless you buy the DVD for collections.

  • how did he die?

  • a great valuable player in this world

  • Terrific!

  • Miss you Buster! What a great player and person...

  • Great player, but he is always rushing

  • look up "TheGuitarNick Jiffy Jam" on youtube there are tabs in the detail box. He has alot of other really good videos with free tabs. it's definitely worth checkin out!

  • Hi Buster, it seems to me that you KNOW what you're doin' man. This is great stuff, my mate Goodo can really kick some ass on Jerry Reed, but I think he'd love to see you play ( if he has'nt already ), anyway I'm very pleased to discover you, best wishes Greg'

  • split starts at 5:36

  • this is f----in nasty...i'm stumped

  • Another great Godin acoustic electric nylon string guitar. This guy is also an excellent finger style player. You can't duplicate this kind of performance with a straight pick. Some players train themselves to hold the straight pick and use the middle, ring, and little finger finger style. But traditionally it's a thumb pick and 4 fingers. Notice how he uses his fingernails to pick with. I do the same thing. I go to a nail salon 2 times a month and get fills. The nails are coated with acryllic.

  • God Bless you Buster. RIP. Hope to see and pick with you one day.

  • fantastic playing and tutorial

  • In that Bottom Line gig with Chet from 1991 Jerry mentioned that people ask him to play various tunes. He said he had forgotten them- and he was always happy when Chet agreed to record a tune- that way he said he could forget it and never have to touch it again! I think that RCA should do an album of Chet's versions of Jerry's tunes and do another of Jerry playing his own instrumentals- like this one Jiffy Jam from "Half & Half" the "pickin" half which he recorded during his "bearded period".

  • What a great performance and playing tips. Thanks for the lesson!

  • is that a nylon or steel strung guitar?

  • Nylon, you can tell by the open style headstock. Steel strings (should) never use that, most prob a closed gear machine headstock.

But it sounds like steel kinda, I reckon :)

  • "Jerry never played his songs the same way twice". I like the statement. I hate routine and playing everything without feeling. That's why when you play it you need to feel it :) Jerry's Jiffy Jam rulez !

  • Agreed! I find myself changing my style alot as I play, probs because I've only been playing for 7 months.. I like to feel like I'm 'wearing' the music. It's kinda good to know others feel similar.

  • nice!

  • why do i know this as Bluefinger?

  • there is also mister lucky, which buster here calls it in a different video

  • Follow the links in the description piece (top right) to see all the deatils of this DVD from Buster made by Stefan Grossman's company. The TAB and notation is with the DVD as a PDF file on the disc.

  • oH MAN what a player!

    RIP

  • Beautiful playing, no doubt about it. That's a very strange looking guitar he's playing. Anyone know what it is?

  • it's a Godin, but I'm not sure exactly which model it is

  • It's a Godin Multiacs SA of some sort. (Buster had a close contact with Godin so I think this was some sort of signature model). But its based on the SA range of nylon strung guitars.

  • RIP

  • somebody tell me where this tab is at.i also want "lightning rod".i wanna use my Chet Atkins for every thing it's worth.

  • These came from Busters Jerry Reed DVD tutorial. If you get the DVD you'll get the music with them. All of Buster's DVDs are excellent and well taught. His death is a terrible loss to the guitar World.

  • Buster passed away Feb. 2, 2009 in Eugene, Oregon. He was 49. (I tried to include a link to the story, but the post didn't show up. Probably anti-spam feature or something.)

Go to google, click "news" then search "buster b. jones" (with quote marks) for the article.

  • Great job and tune. Do you have your tab for this tune? If so, PLEASE sen dit to me.

    Thanks.

  • What kinda guitar does he have?

  • im pretty sure its a godin

  • Yup, definately a Godin.

  • Dude, in part A, you have to play the B bass-note under the melody otherwise the bass-line loses its impact. The exact part I'm talking about is when the bass-line goes - E G# A A# then B. At this point it implies an E/B chord and sounds very nice progressing into the C#.

You play it in the intro but drop it under the melody. Jerry probably wouldn't care as will most people, I'm just 'B-ing picky'.

  • I sat down at the CAAS convention one year with Buster on my left and Tommy Emanuel right...in Busters lounge at about 4pm....luckily I didnt have my guitar....Buster played one of his powerful original songs that me made me think of a wild turkey running 90 miles an hour at a heard of cows....Tommy played Classical gas after that....I was between them like and walked away..went outside and caught my breath....booth Buster and Tommy are MO FO...never will forget that music lesson

  • Buster,thanks a bunch.This will be fun to learn.Great playing too!

  • Good grief....

  • I can heard some blue finger in this tune :)

    Like this song

    Difficult, very difficult.

  • can anyone actually be thought this song so unthoroughly

  • It's all in how bad you want to learn it; it's all there, just keep on practicin', keep tryin'. You'll get it.

  • shit, i really desperately want to learn this

  • the intro sounds a lot like blue finger,id love to see jerry reed play blue finger, can somebody please put that on if it exists?

  • Buster is Jerry's bastard son from his 1964 tour of Mars.

  • I think that is a complement...right?

  • fantastic job!

  • goood job. check out my i saw the light, its a mixture of those styles.

  • Thanks again!

    Jerry Reed the Alabama Wildman!
