James hetfield. (singer, rythem guitarist) just plays the main riff over and over again which doesn't make a difference. And in the tremelo picking part. James plays the exact same notes. So it doesn't change the sound. Just thought you be a non-guitar player. And figured i'd let you know that.

I don't understand... What's wrong with active pickups? You just have to remember to unplug your guitar when you're not playing it. The sound difference between EMG actives and EMG passives is huge.

active EMG's only work when you have both the neck and the bridge pickup are active. Since my pickups are passive, I can't have them work

Dude, swap out the bridge P/U for an 81 and put an 85 in the neck. The 85 has a really warm tone. Kirk plays with an 81/81 set and this is what my guitar has. Trust me, if you swap for active pickups you won't be disappointed.

the stock KH-202 is about $420 but i upgraded the EMG-HZ pickups with EMG 81's which cost me about an extra $100. the KH-602 comes with the 81's and it's like $700.
