  • how can you make 0.9nm CdSe QDots?

Can you help me with this/ thanks

  • Thanks so much, flurophore. By the way, why she shoot the heating flask with alcohol?? And what is the name for the white colour stopper (am going to procure that thing)...Thanks in advance..

  • The white stoppers are called rubber septa. They allow you to seal the glassware and access the interior by needle.

The alcohol is sprayed on the vessel to quickly cool it.

  • @fluorophore

Could somthing other then Alcohol be used to cool it ?

I ask this only because there are alot of substances and methods you can use to cool somthing.

(PS: I understand the simplicity of my question, I just have to ask for that very reason)

  • Really thanks, like this video so much :)

  • @miao7997 they are rubber septa's, but you're more likely to find them if you search for 'suba seals'. That's the brand name a lot of them fall under, they're sold by Sigma Alrich mainly (who'll want an account and VAT codes), but I've seen them elsewhere.

fluorophore, is there anywhere I can find a lab guide to have a go at this myself? I have all the glass, seals and GC/HPLC syringes

  • what is the thing underneath the flask, kinda like cotton sponge..?? can any one pls tell me??!!
