Thanks for that Jenny! I had a small quilt made of blue diamonds (with silver thread running through), which I had no idea what to do with so I have used it for a tree skirt using your method. Really enjoyable to do and it looks great.
My sister & I inhered a large quilt top made with 5in sq. of all different Christmas Fabric that our Mother made & we have wanted to do something speical with it for a while. Making Tree Skirts will make four perfect keepsakes...
Thank you Jenny & Co, love your tutorials, you have turned me into a quilter. I'm now finishing my 7th quilt, well and truly hooked. Merry Christmas.x
Completely addicted to Jenny's tutorials and Missouri star.....best long arm quilting in the business...love you all....thankyou for your support and beautiful work this year! From Aussie Jilly in Norfrolk...xxxx
Since I´ve seen Jenny for the first time, I started sewing my nearly "perfect" quilts. Feels like being her student. She encourages me to do all these wonderful things. Thanks Jenny - keep on doing these great tutorials.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. As I was watching I remembered that I have some beautiful fabric that I didn't know what to use it for. It will make a perfect tree skirt. : ) Thanks again.
I love you videos that inspire me to get started on quilting. Wanted to ask what type of sewing machines you use? Santa (my husband) has told me that I can have a new machine for my gift this year and have found so many that say they are for quilting but not certain if that is what I need. Have been able to sew since I was in High School so I know what type of stitches and attachments I need for sewing but want to make sure that the one I great will be an asset to quilting.
@leesagentry1 Mom uses and loves her Janome. The best advice she gives though, is to try them all out! Test drive them so you can get a feel for what you want and what features you will find important! Good luck! And give Santa an extra kiss this year! :)
You are all too sweet!! So glad you are enjoying these tutorials!! As always, send us pictures of your finished projects! We love to see what you create!
Good Job Jenny... You always put into a real live "visual" something that i try to imagine in my mind and don't always get up the guts to do it... Your an inspiration to all of here at the other end of the cyber world!!!! Next year i'm going to have a tree skirt FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please keep these Christmas ideas coming! I've got Christmas fabrics up to my eye balls, fat quarters to be exact, and I need to make some fast gifts for family! Your tutorials are amazing! So cheery and fun! They take the stress out of quilting!! :)
@verycraftymama Yup, me too; I've put away my sewing machine for the rest of December -- to many other things like finishing shopping, decorating the house, and baking.
I 've made the tree skirt..but can you show us how to make the border soon?

For a three-inch border, don't you want to cut 3 1/4 or 3/12"?
