@skbenergy St. Maarten is beautiful. It's a pretty typical Caribbean island, but the airport is certainly pretty unique. On the French side, Orient Beach is quite the stunner. It's been 4+ years now, but those are the main things that stick out in my mind (and are pretty much the main things that I did, as I recall).
Indeed, at that time, I seem to recall hearing on my scanner the winds were like 210 @ 6 or so. Actually, now that I think about it, that was earlier, which caused 2 AA 757s to takeoff on 27, but I think the winds were 180 @ 11. It sure was fun
