@Deeablo24...Hamer had a 'Steve Stevens' signature line of guitars back in the day starting with the SS-1, then SS-2, and finally the SS-3 which later became the body style for their Centaura series. All outstanding examples of the finest guitars on the planet. By the way, they also had a 'Diablo' series of guitars...

He was committed so Steve Vai got the gig through Billy Sheehan.I saw Billy Idol in 1984 on a cold winter night in Fredericton, NB, Canada and Steve Stevens stole that show. An absolutely brilliant guitarist and incredible live. I remember White Wedding's clarity of sound and pure, raw power. If anyone likes Hendrix check out Josee Caron's Little Wing on Youtube. She's my 19 year old daughter.

@ohguy1991 like the other Steve (Lukather) he's not that famous because a lot of his work is session work in the studio, sometimes not even for singers (TV shows, movie soundtracks, theme songs etc). The others in that list are front-line headlining guitarists who regularly put out records or tours for themselves or their bands. Speaking of Lukather-he played MJ's iconic Beat It riff, but everyone only remembers that EVH did the solo!
@GlamMetalRebel I think the 'problem' arises because whenever his name comes out, ppl always think at him as Bolly Idols's guitarist. Not that it's a bad thing (I adore what he achieved on Idol's albums) by by that he never came out as a 'pure' guitar hero. There are many others guitarists who are way more famous than him, but in no way are better than Steve Stevens. Also, his constant 80's look did damage him a bit, I'd say.

i had a chance to see billy idol with steve..... but chose to work..... trying to improve my car. (a decision i regret).... but i DID see/hear steve when the atomic playboys opened for van halen (sammy hagar.... PUKE!)
THE ATOMIC PLAYBOYS finished their set...... sammy's van halen came to stage... i left the concert.
my love for eddie's playing did not exceed my disdain for the now/then POP ROCK van halen.
i am honored to say....... i saw mr. steve stevens play LIVE.
