Maybe he's just going crazy while in the groove and it might sound different to him from under there. Depending on how the fold backs are placed. Or he had some cocaine under there haha. Thats my view anyway. Could be very wrong.

@rdtkga I'm probably being a little unreasonable about Wakeman. He's just a little rhythmically and harmonically boxy sounding to me. Not as bad as Keith Emerson, that guy bores the shit out of me. But I'm a Herbie Hancock fan at heart and I'm grading on rhythmic/harmonic/melodic fluidity/creativity. I'm a huge Yes fan too but for totally other musical reasons. (composition/arrangement/sonic aesthetic etc)
