I build affordable realistic homes, minimum 25/year. Build green all you want, it is 65" tv's and people that love to live inside at 65 when it is 110 oustide and 72 when it is -15 outside. People don't give a shit about how green thier house is, they want the most sqft for the dollar and good location, I hope you have conquered your puny market.
As a Frank Lloyd Wright fan, I note great similarities between his work and Deltec homes. Rectangular box homes are simply obsolete, for a variety of reasons.
They waste enormous amounts of space in dead-end corners. And look hopelessly out of place on a natural site. I would not, however, ever use horizontal siding on a Deltec home - vertical cedar looks best. or stucco or sand
finished. Deltec is the closest one can get to Falling Water, Wright's masterpiece. It's actually better inside.
may be energy efficient, but the added cost to build vs/rectangle or square can never be returned in savings. the round design is just stupid, and expensive.
@d1incharge round is the absolute best design for a home there is, we have been led to believe square is best and then forced to accept a market of square furniture to further necessitate the square home, get out of the BOX head space and see what round can do!!
@NewJura Windows, plywood, most lumber, carpets, tile, trim, appliances, countertop, drywall, those are just some of the items that come SQUARE. Don't be an idiot, build a house, then tell us how easy round is, it is plain retarded to anybody with experience in construction.Round is a waste of time, material, money. The complete opposite of green.
@d1incharge I have been building homes for 25 years, and if you would have actually grasped what I said then you would see you reply to mine was idiotic in its self, as I stated the entire material market has been formed to ensure square, I also am a natural builder and build homes in the ULTIMATE form of green which is from the earth and recycled and re-purposed materials, what is you experience? I have put in my years and know extremely well what can and cant be done and with what.
@NewJura Your floor plan couldn't get approved 9/10 lots we have built on, if you were a builder you would know people dont want one stupid looking house bringing down a whole street of home values, so floor plans need approved, and maybe you can have cities start designing lots in circles too! To better fit your stupid ass circle homes. Green is a teepee living off the land, these homes are not even fucking close! I bet fewer than one out of million homes are round, it's called demand.
@d1incharge exactly right!! so keep watching as your square (much like yourself) become obsolete and people with vision and desire for a home that doesnt look like the neighbors, grows to choke square houses out......
I heard these homes are a nightmare as it relates to both insurance and especially refinanancing, I spoke to Mr Mortgage on this, reason being I was turned down for refinancing simply because my own home was not comparable to any home in our neighborhood (I thought this was odd, I never heard of this before). I have a SQUARE energy efficient SEMI earth berm on 7 acres and I'm lumped into that category from what I understand.
If you haven't seen the Deltec video you need to. It is excellent! Their homes are circular in design and therefore are hurricane resistant! They have many testimonials of their owners surviving major hurricanes! Everyone in high wind areas should see this and live in a Deltec. Amazing! My next home will be a Deltec. Great Job Deltec! I'll spread the word.

I would love one of these houses. I would move to NC just for these houses but feel they are outside my budget. 80k doesn't buy much anymore.

An energy efficient house makes sense and improves the comfort of your home and helps prevent climate change.
