BTW, Cung Le later joined the MMA tournament and he seems to have pretty good result aslo. MMA is allow to use attacking skills on ground but SANSHOU or SANDA is not since they consider two fighters fighting on ground is not good to see as a spectator sport (i.e. look like two homo having sex).

Actually, SANSHOU or SANDa developed from traditional Chinese Kung Fu (WuShu) or Chinese Marital Art. Howover, the techiques of Chinese Kung Fu was designed for incapacitating or killing people. That's why traditional Chinese 'WuShu' competition were all single performance without combat (due to those major & leathal attack techiques). They later developed SANDA combat with rules but banning some leathal attacking skills (i.e. stabbling eyes with fingers, attacking throat or balls, etc.).

Bruce Lee won an amateur Boxing tournament in Hong Kong. Other than that I don't think he competed in any other tournaments. He's been quoted by students such as Joe Lewis as saying that he had no interest in competition. There wasn't much to gain from Martial Arts tournaments back then aside from respect and Bruce was far more influential as a movie star. He incorporated his philosophy into his movies.
