Rock and his sister Roll Rock and Roll. Bass and his crazy ass looking dog Treble. Treble and Bass Cleff. There may be a few more that I missed. But those REALLY stuck out to me. I prefer Mega Man, but Kudos on Capcom for having a musical sense of humor in their games, even if it went over America's head apparently lol
for all those people who say they can defeat airman try it on the nes with no turbo fire because then it becomes nigh on impossible to beat him without the leaf sheild
no it doesnt jump over the first tornado and the rest fly over you even though it looks like the 3rd should hurt you, you then get 4 free hits on him before another attack, then you simply swap the sides of the room with him
@qwertyui137: I can beat him just fine with no autofire or leaf shield. It's not impossible at all, he's just kinda hard if you don't know how to avoid his tornado buster.
I don't. I like how Rock is his name when he's without his powers, as a normal housekeeping robot. And he is Mega Man when he has all his gear equipped.
Almost like a regular super hero with an alter ego. That's what I like about the US calling him Mega Man when he's geared up and simply Rock when he's not.
@Lonewolf43 His Japanese name was Rockman, but when it came to America they dubbed it in English and changed Rockman's name to Megaman because they thought it fit more, I actually think it does fit more, Rockman makes me feel more like Megaman is Red/White instead of Blue/Cyan.
@Lonewolf43 Because "Rockman" doesn't really sound like a game that American players would have played, so they changed the title to "Megaman" to draw more western players in.
people have the misconception that our version is much easier. The truth is that Difficult is normal(Japanese) and Normal is easy. They think that there was a harder option in the original so the game is much harder, but this isn't true.

Japanese Normal = American Difficult.
Difficult Airman is the same boss as JP Airman.
EdmacZ 1 year ago
Wait, was this on the easy mode? That seems like him taking WAY too much damage. Megabuster is supposed to chip one HP per hit from him.

um i can beat air man with no leef sheild
thegamerkid77 2 years ago
BUT WERE YOU USING A TURBO FIRE CONTROLLER OR AN EMULATOR THAT USES TURBO FIRE? (sry caps was on)
qwertyui137 2 years ago
no i just timed my jumps so that i could dodge the tornados and then shot him as fast as i could repeat the proses untill airman dies
its also a good idea to get a few extra shots in when he switches frome the right to the left
thegamerkid77 2 years ago
yeah its not impossible but it is hard
qwertyui137 2 years ago
ya it is hard in fact its taken me a lot of practice just to get to the boss and once i did it was all good
thegamerkid77 2 years ago
That would be why you have a backspace key.
TheAmbassador520 2 years ago
WHAT?
qwertyui137 2 years ago
@qwertyui137 backspace is the key to the right of the = key, it erases mistakes so you don't have to apologize for mistakes you shouldn't make

The Jap. versions have READY in English. Always. Unless it's a hack. I don't know why it's like that, but it just is.

"Also the original boss and the Japanese boss really don't differ that much."
The original boss is the Japanese boss...
Retrofiuter 3 years ago
It is said that the Japanese boss is much harder than the American one, even if the difficulty is on difficult.
Supershoe 3 years ago
He meant that a Japanese version is the Original game! Cause the developers are japanese! =)
Kamikadze333666 3 years ago 2
@Supershoe well, if that is said, that is a lie. The japanese one is exactly the same as the american one on difficult.
Forthelemon 1 year ago 3
@Supershoe I tested it out, he is no easier or harder.

Anyone have any idea how we went from "Rockman" to "megaman"?
Lonewolf43 3 years ago
The americans wouldn't get the joke of every character being music related i.e. Rockman - Megaman Protoman - Blues Bass - Bass.
Supershoe 3 years ago
Bass is Forte in Japan...
Dekcatta 3 years ago
oh sorry forgot that!

Forte is still a music term. It means to play something loud.

rock used to be a slang word for cocaine or some other drug and the US didnt want people complaining about it so they had the name changed

@Lonewolf43 Sorry for answering to a year old comment.
I also heard that, at the time, Rockman was some band's name in America or something. So it was a copyright issue as well.
Beremor 1 year ago
@Lonewolf43 Because "Rockman" doesn't really sound like a game that American players would have played, so they changed the title to "Megaman" to draw more western players in.
As you can see, it worked.
