  • y is he not giving any formula !! there must be 1

  • what if you can't draw out all of the possible outcomes, for example if u rolled a dice 100 times. is there a formula to determine the # of outcomes?

  • Bummer about the "P(8) = 5/6" never being fixed to "P(8) = 5/36" that he meant to write.

    Still helpful video(s) in general.

    Love the grid!

  • yay monopoly

  • 7:17 : and if I have a 5 I need a zero, wait what xD

  • What???, prob. of 8= 5/6, isn't it 5/36 ?????

  • Wow, I've seen that similar sum of dice = 7 problem in my math textbook a billion times but that grid format makes it SO CLEARRR.

  • JUST SAYING: I missed the whole probability unit because i was sick (strep ftw) I wached the probabilty videos and the binomial videos the day before and i got 84% :)

  • Khan ur awesome helped me alot..... a pure genius! ;D

  • Those diagrams aren't always useful. I had to sit by this kid in class that I hate three times in a row. The chances of that happening is about 0.95%, which means I am pretty unlucky. Four times is 0.2%. I'll talk to my teacher if 3 turns into 4.

I worked it out differently because there are 462 dfferent ways to sit 2 kids in my class like that and it would take forever to list the possibilities.

  • I wish u were my stats teacher, I don't understand mine!

  • hey!! p(8) isn't 5/36!! it is 5/6!!

you know what that means??? that means, a genius like you CAN make a mistake!! now i'll never....never ever feel shy when i make a mistake in future!!!!! rather i'd try to make myself better for the next!!

    take care :)

  • @sagaralpha ...umm, nope...its 5/36... 3,2 or 2,3 or 4,1 or 1,4 or 4,4....you can't divide the denominator by 6 without dividing the numerator by 6...so 5/6 is wrong

  • u made an error p(8)=5/36. NOT 5/6.

    thanks though

  • error for P(8) at 04:31

  • 1 die, 2 or more dice. There are no dices, just like there are no mices.

    Alea jacta est.

  • You cheat at monopoly! I cant believe it! :D rsrsrsrsrs

  • wow, i am still in bed but already learning math, this is awesome!!

    Thanks Sal!

  • Drawing a matrix really helps conceptually. Never quite thought about it this way!

  • great

  • פשוט מלך! מלך!!!

  • Thanks again

  • For ALL those WHO COMPLAIN against KHAN

It's your JOB of understanding/ and concentrating on them.

HE's TELLING YOU A LOT ALREADY IGNORING those SILLY MISTAKES, have CONFIDENCE in YOURSELVES and MARCH FORWARDS.

  • Actually, P(8) = P(6) = 5/36

  • Hi. How come you count the 2 & the 3 & then the 3 & the 2 etc. can't u say order doesn't matter and only count the unique combinations?

  • Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeat

  • I know you're a beast monopoly player Khan.

  • p(8)=5/36? (: your really helpful thanks(:<3

  • Yeah he meant to put 5/36

  • P(8) = 5/36, sorry just bothered me :)

  • nice colors :D

  • great video thanks

  • P(8) = 5/36. Nice videos. This will help me in my probability class I think

  • @dbzsucks2007 learn ahead!!

  • how can you get 7 on a dice when the max in it is 6????

  • he was referring to the probability of getting a 7 on two dices....

  • its the sum of the two die that's why

  • hahaha...

  • igor smash!

  • you are not paying attention in what he said?? there are two dices

  • awesome...

  • leave him alone he knows alot already

  • @lunolol what do you mean, "leave him alone" ?

  • Great Videos!!! but you made a little mistake on the probability. You said it was P(8)= 5/6 when it should be 5/36. Good job overall
